Valor's Voice

Valor's Voice Fulfilling the promise to never forget by remembering, restoring, and reuniting. Vets are provided with a free DVD of the interview.

We fulfill the promise to never forget in 3 specific ways:

Remembering...we travel onsite and conduct interviews with vets, Gold Star family members, etc., which are put on our FB and our website (official launch in 2012 for full site). We use our i'views in schools, assemblies, etc. Every veteran that dies is history lost. Stone monuments and memorials aren't enough anymore. We have a chance to

save our history with technology that is now available to create living memorials. We also preserve relics and artifacts which we display during presentations. We're attempting to become the largest private veteran archive in the world. Restoring...all veterans deserve a break...especially combat vets. Beginning in 2012, we'll start putting vets and their families up for a week at time, all expenses paid, at various vacation spots. We're asking people to donate cabins, condos, or homes they no longer use. All gifts are tax deductible. Reuniting...many vets would like to see old friends they served with one last time before they pass. Beginning in 2012, we'll start trying to make that happen. Whether it's individual reunions or whole battalions, vets deserve this act of gratitude.

Until a few years ago, 99-year-old Leigh Walker didn't talk about being a welder in the war effort. Now, the Valor's Voice non-profit is raising money for Leigh's trip to The National WWII Museum.

Leigh Walker is a 100-year-old Rosie Riveter who worked in the San Francisco shipyards during WWII.

Before the war, she lived through the Great Depression. Here’s the last part of her Depression story.

We’re trying to send Leigh to the National WWII Museum this month.

I’d like you to meet Leigh Walker.
Leigh is 100 years old and one of America’s remaining Rosie the Riveters.
During World War II, Leigh worked in the San Francisco shipyards, helping build the ships that carried American troops across the ocean.
We have tried twice to take Leigh to the National WWII Museum in New Orleans, but her health prevented her from traveling.
Her family recently contacted me and said she is finally strong enough to make the trip.
So we are putting together a special Valor’s Voice trip March 24–26th so Leigh can finally be honored for her service.
Time is short, and we need to raise the funds quickly to make this happen.
If you’d like to help send a 100-year-old Rosie Riveter on the trip she deserves, please consider donating below.
Every dollar helps.
More than anything, please share this post so others can help us honor Leigh and the incredible women of the WWII generation.

104 y/o Helen Leqve, our Rosie the Riveter walked the entire museum! Been bringing groups for over a decade and at the start of the day my WWII vets and Rosies usually say the don’t need wheelchair assistance. Around 30 minutes into the day they always decide they do. They’ve more than earned the right to decide and I never argue. Inevetibly they ask for assistance. So when Ms. Helen said she didn’t need one I waited for the text from her caretakers requesting that I bring one to their location in the museum. For the first time, that call never came. Say it slowly. One hundred and four years of age. Unbelievable.
