PCFC Summer Mission Trip – June 5 - 12, 2026

Piedmont First Baptist Church
Piedmont First Baptist Church
105 North Main Street
Piedmont, Alabama 36272

Over the last year… Since our August 2025 Carpenters for Christ Banquet, the leadership team has been meeting regularly
to promote and encourage our membership. On October 25th, 2025, some of our members were able to help Chapman’s
Chapel CH Church located in Glencoe, Alabama. The project consisted of hanging and finishing sheetrock for their fellowship hall. The task took several trips and was a tremendous success. We finished the project on February 28th 2026. We were able to complete the project and had great fellowship with this church group.

About Piedmont First Baptist Church: Piedmont First Baptist traces its roots to 1870. It was founded by 11 charter
members and was known as Cross Plains Baptist Church. In 1905 on the present site the name legally changed to
Piedmont First Baptist Church. In 1950 the existing church sanctuary was completed.

Piedmont First Baptist has been
instrumental in sponsoring the Piedmont Carpenters for Christ. Our group was organized in the parlor of Piedmont First
Baptist. It started with one faithful person stepping out on faith with a vision for our current group back in 1982. Mr. Doug Rosser attended a brother hood breakfast conducted by Charlie Willliams and John Nelson representing the Golden Springs Carpenters for Christ. From this breakfast, Mr. Rosser made the faithful decision to go that year with Golden Springs Baptist Church for his first mission project located in Ohio. He has never missed a trip with the Carpenters for Christ since 1982. Over the years, many Piedmont First Baptist Church members committed to going and the group was dedicated to serving the Golden Springs Carpenters for Christ. In 2001 with Mr. Rosser’s vision our group decided to step out on faith and form the Piedmont Carpenters for Christ. Our group has been able to consistently complete a yearly project since 2001 except for 2020 - the Covid year. We look forward to serving our sponsoring church, Piedmont First Baptist for this year’s project.

Project specifications: This is a remodel of the church sanctuary. Our group will be responsible for replacing the
sanctuary ceiling, which includes sheetrock and a coffered ceiling. We will be building new bathrooms and working on the
existing stage. A new baptistry will be installed to accommodate the stage remodel. The general contractor for this
project is Pat Kirk. Pat has participated several times with our Carpenters for Christ group and is looking forward to seeing
old friends and what the Lord is planning on accomplishing with our group. This project is greatly needed and will help Piedmont First Baptist Church grow its ministry into the next century. Please pray that we will have a great week of fellowship and work to accomplish the plan that the Lord has for our ministry.

Important information:
Dues: $135 full week. $75 Weekenders (Fri & Sat). Both full week and weekend dues include shirt and cap/visor.

Devotions: The highlight of my trip last year was giving a devotion. To volunteer for devotions call/text Mark Addison
@ 678.988.2593. We need at least 18 devotions for the week. Please help Mark fill the devotion spots by June 1, 2026.

Lodging: Will be at Piedmont First Baptist Church. If you are planning on RVing or camping, please let Neil Compton
or Scott Young know by phoning or texting @(256) 452-5010 or (256) 473-6649.
Clothes: Clothes will be washed on Sat, Mon, Tue, and Wed. Label all clothing with black permanent Sharpie
for sorting purposes (including socks and underwear).

Tools: Please bring personal tools and a hard hat. As always bring your Bible.

Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ,

Neil Compton

Day 4 of the 2025 project. Balcony addition is progressing well, and the field house shingles were started before the rain set in. We are having great devotions and fellowship, and as always, we are being fed extremely well.

The wind got up as the storm was blowing through, and the saw tent had to have a little help to keep it from flying away.
