UAW members are ready to shift Congress in favor of the working class! Over the weekend, members knocked doors in 90+ degree heat to build momentum for Marni von Wilpert for Congress for Congress (CA-48).

Marni is a long-time champion of labor and the LGBTQ+ community. She’s ready to use Congress to advance the needs of working class people, from addressing the affordability crisis to taking on ICE and more.

This month, Seattle passed a major win for housing affordability: a ban on landlords charging “junk fees” like pet rent, admin fees, and other hidden charges.

And all over the country, UAW members are showing what’s possible when we elect local leaders who are committed to transforming city politics to focus on the needs of the working class. UAW Local 4121 members helped elect Katie Wilson in Seattle, UAW Region 9A members helped elect Zohran Mamdani in New York, and this fall, UAW members in Los Angeles will help elect Nithya Raman Mayor of LA.

Last week UAW members around the country convened in Houston for the 2026 UAW Women’s and Technical Office & Professional (TOP) Conference to discuss advancing gender justice in the workplace and beyond, as well as issues affecting workers in the TOP sector.

Region 6 members were proud to accept the annual Regional Activism Award, recognizing the organizing of thousands of Region 6 members over the past year fighting the Trump admin’s cuts to lifesaving research funding, which have especially targeted research focused on women, LGBTQ+ people, and people of color.

UAW members have won important progress in this fight, but it’s far from over. Reach out to your Local union to get more involved in ongoing work to defend lifesaving research!
