Last night, the Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual awards and ATHENA celebration.

The Pickerington Food Pantry’s Executive Director, Kaylie Fellers, was honored with the Emerging ATHENA Award. The Emerging ATHENA Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate professional excellence, give back to their communities, and actively mentor and support women in reaching their full leadership potential.

Kaylie was recognized for the many initiatives she has implemented at the Pantry to better serve the Pickerington community, expand programs, and increase the Pantry’s capacity to assist more local families in need.

When asked what it meant to win the award, Kaylie stated “I hope it makes our clients proud”.

We are incredibly proud of Kaylie and grateful for her leadership, compassion, and dedication to serving our community every day. Congratulations, Kaylie, on this well-deserved honor!

This past winter, Meijer reached out to more than 900 organizations seeking Hunger Relief Hero nominations to recognize outstanding volunteers. The Pickerington Food Pantry proudly nominated volunteer Tina Anderson, and she won!

Meijer presented the Pantry with a $5,000 donation, and Tina received a beautiful plaque and prize in recognition of her dedication and service.

Congratulations, Tina, and thank you for all that you do for the Pickerington Food Pantry! We are so grateful for your heart, hard work, and commitment to our community.
A huge thank you to Meijer as well for their generous contribution and for recognizing such an incredible volunteer.

The Pickerington Tiger Sharks Swim Team held a food drive for the Pantry. What an incredible donation! Thank you!!

208 pounds of food was collected for the Pickerington Food Pantry during our ice cream social!

Students from Toll Gate Middle School participated in “Crunch for a Cause” in benefit of the Pickerington Food Pantry. The class that collected the most boxes of cereal won a game of dodgeball against local first responders! In total, the school collected 840 lbs of cereal for the Pantry.
A huge thank you to the students and staff at Tollgate Middle School and to our first responders for participating in today’s event!

It’s time for another Volunteer Spotlight and today we’re featuring Ross, a long time Back Room Volunteer- and it just so happens to be his birthday too!
Ross’s favorite thing about the Food Pantry is spending time with the other volunteers.
If you’ve ever stopped by on a Thursday, you’ve likely had the pleasure of meeting Ross! He helps collect and organize donations as they come in and leaves our Back Room area clean and sparkling.
