Meet Samantha Frost!

Samantha joins the Pickerington Food Pantry Board of Trustees as Vice President for 2026-2027. She lives in Pickerington with her husband, Mark, their two sons, Ben and James, and their rescue pup, Bear. Since 2013 Samantha has worked at The Ohio State University and currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Constituent Experiences. She looks forward to applying her many years of event planning and fundraising experience to positively impact the Pickerington Food Pantry and our Community.

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be and why?
“I think right now I’d choose Bono from U2- or maybe Dolly Parton! Both are terrific examples of living their values and using their platforms and influence for the greater good.”

What are some of your favorite hobbies?
“Does going to Combustion count as a hobby?? Aside from patronizing local businesses, I love live music, camping, anything on water/ outdoors, and of course spending time with family and friends.”

Why do you think fighting hunger is important in our community?
“I think fighting hunger is one of the clearest ways for a community to express care for one another. Making sure that no one goes hungry demonstrates that every person matters, every person deserves dignity, and every person deserves to be nourished in order to reach their potential!”

Why should someone consider volunteering or donating?
“Because we can all play a role in taking care of one another. No action or donation is too small to make a difference.”

Favorite snack? “Popcorn.”

Favorite book or movie?
“Tim O’Brien’s “The Things They Carried”- I have read this book many times and remain in awe of the way the author wrestles with truth, memory, courage, regret, trauma, mortality, and the human experience.”

What’s one goal you’d love to help the Pantry achieve?
“A broader awareness of what the Pantry does, who it serves, and how the community can support.”

Thank you Pickerington Lions Club for hosting a food drive for our Holiday Meal Baskets event!!

How do ? Here at the Pickerington Lions Club, we often end our social media posts with that hashtag. We talk about it at our meetings, and it is the Lions Club motto. During our nation's 250th anniversary celebration, we have decided to put those words into action with a different mission every month. And YOU can join us! 🫵

During the month of October, our members are committed to donating at least 250 ITEMS to the Pickerington Food Pantry to help with their Thanksgiving & Christmas baskets.

Won't you show your spirit and donate as well? Donations can be dropped off at the pantry at 70 Cross Street on Thursdays and Saturdays between 9am-12pm until November 7th. A list of the most needed items appears below.

All we ask is that if you are donating items, mention that you are joining with the Lions Club in their commitment to serving the Pickerington Community.

If you are unable to drop off during those hours, we will also be collecting at the Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce in the historical train depot on Center Street. Thanks for your help!

Despite PLSD being closed today, the Pickerington Food Pantry will remain open for client appointments.
⚠️Flooding and travel safety tip reminders:⚠️
·Never drive through flooded roadways.
·Turn around, don’t drown.
·Remember that floodwater may be deeper and moving faster than it appears.
·If conditions near you are unsafe, please stay home.
