For pet owners in Pickens County

THIS SATURDAY!! The Pickens County Sheriff's Office has partnered with two local pet organizations to give out free pet food this Saturday from 11:00am-1:00pm in our PCSO parking lot (216 C. David Stone Road Pickens). We recognize that the growing population of stray animals in our county is a community problem and try diligently to address it from multiple different angles. This event is intended to offer supplies to those in our community that are assisting with this issue by trying to care for strays themselves when there is nowhere else for them to go. We thank you in advance for being a part of the solution when there is not enough room in our shelters. In addition, if you are caring for your own pets and need the financial assistance, feel free to stop by as well.

Pickens County SC Animal Shelter
HAS 49 Canines listed on their roster with more to be entered today. From very YOUNG to OLDER. 4 months plus are altered, vaccinated, microchipped and READY TO GO. Be it foster, adoption or RESCUE. These canines NEED OUT!!!!
The top of the list are the ones NEEDING OUT quickly.
Animal Enforcement is working hard to help find solutions to keeping animals out of the shelter to avoid any being euthanized.

These animals may not have funds attached to them, yet the are FULLY VETTED with transferable medical papers. They are READY TO PLACE!

BeeBee chose her human. I watched it take place.
I have to say this right here is definitely worth that bag of potato chips and being face down in a ditch to capture a dumped dog.

UPDATE

One more dog in need of spay has now been spayed.
Thank you Clemson Paw Partners and Margaret J Thompson and CCA for helping me help Sgt Anthony help a family in our community and help our County Animal Shelter.

💙🐾INTERVENTION WORKS!

We could have watched 28 animals enter our already overwhelmed animal shelter try to find placement for these animals in need. HOWEVER, I was able to network the needs. Placement for 15 puppies (thank you GHS), one dog was rehomed so far and 2 kittens were immediately secured with foster for Rescue (thank you TBGR)

Remaining in need are one male needing to be neutered and one female needing to be spayed. All dogs that have been spayed and neutered have been fully vaccinated, dewormer was provided, they received prevention and are now microchipped as well.

The dogs were NOT neglected, are loved and love the family. All had proper housing, were being fed, have real names but none were altered.

6 of the 9 remaining dogs are need of finding furever homes and are available to go to rescue.
4 females, 2 males. 50lbs and under.

The family is GRATEFUL!

Delivered: 500lbs of pet food, some new collars, 10 bales of cedar chips
