“I’m not going to feed you something I wouldn’t eat myself..”

Chef Sarah of Good Girls Bakery took us into the kitchen to learn more about the care, intention, and craftsmanship that goes into everything they make. From sourcing ingredients to creating baked goods that bring people together, they’re a wonderful example of the passion you’ll find throughout our local food community.

Behind every loaf, pastry, and baked good is a person, a process, and a whole lot of intention. That’s one of the reasons we’re so passionate about bringing local farmers, makers, and producers together at Good Food Fest each year.

We’re excited to keep introducing you to the people behind the food, drinks, and products you’ll discover at Good Food Fest this November.

Stay tuned for more!

🍅 A van full of tomatoes and a Saturday morning at the market ahead.

One of our favorite things about local food is getting to know the people who grow it. This week, we joined Storm Crow Farm as they harvested tomatoes, packed up the van, and got ready for another day at the market.

Each week, market day creates space for conversations, connections, and a deeper appreciation for local food.

We’re grateful for growers like Storm Crow Farm who make our local food system so vibrant🥕🍅🌽🍑

At Good Food Fest, we’re bringing together the farmers, growers, makers, and producers who help our community thrive and we can’t wait for you to meet them!

“We believe in supporting and developing a local food chain and a local economy. By eating and drinking with us, you’re supporting two dozen to 30 other small family-owned businesses—farmers, cheesemakers, bakers, butchers, and more. That’s keeping our money local, supporting other family businesses, and helping local food thrive while setting a good example for others in our community.”

For the first installment of our new series “Good Food Fest: In the Making”, we were honored to visit Jillian & Doug at Excursion Ciders. They are quite literally the perfect embodiment of Good Food Fest’s mission, as evidenced here. Their commitment to sourcing locally is admirable, and their location just a stone’s throw away from Kimberton Fairgrounds is pretty fitting, too!

We hope you’ll follow along with this series to meet the incredible farmers and producers that you’ll find at Good Food Fest this November, and learn how they do what they do, why they do it, and why supporting local is at the center of it all.

You’ve probably heard us say this before, but we’re really into knowing the people who grow and make our food and drink. And we think you should be, too! So we hope this series helps you get to know them. Stay tuned for more🌾
