Canvas of Courage: Expressive Art Therapy for Veterans Canvas of Courage supports veterans through expressive art therapy, offering a creative outlet that fosters healing, well-being, and community

Tonight marks the final session of Canvas of Courage Cohort 4: Integration & Celebration.

This reel is a small look back at the people, moments, and creative work that shaped this cohort. Over the past few weeks, veterans used art as a way to reflect, participate, and bring their own experiences into the room.

Tonight is about closing the cohort with intention, recognizing the time and effort everyone put into the process, and honoring what was created along the way.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Cohort 4 possible and to the veterans who trusted the process.

Cohort 4 is heading into its final session this Wednesday, June 3, and it feels like these weeks moved faster than expected.

Each session has brought its own moments, some quiet, some funny, some reflective, and all of them adding to the experience this group has built together.

As we get ready to close out Cohort 4, we want to recognize the veterans who made this session meaningful through their presence, perspective, and willingness to be part of the process.

We’ll see everyone Wednesday for the final session.

Week 5 brought out the best of Cohort 4.

Veterans showed up, created together, shared stories, and kept building trust through the process. The art matters, but the connection behind it matters even more.

Every session is a reminder that creativity can open doors to conversation, connection, and a stronger sense of community among those who have served.

🙌 Show some love for Cohort 4.

Yesterday gave us space to pause, remember, and honor.

Tomorrow, we come back together through creativity, connection, and community.

For Week 5 of Canvas of Courage, we’ll be working on our Community Quilt Collaborative Project, a mixed media session focused on building something together, one piece at a time.

Veterans, families, and community members are welcome.

Veteran Resource Day is almost here.

This Saturday, May 23, veterans, families, caregivers, and community supporters are invited to Phoenix Center for the Arts for a morning focused on connection, resources, and community.

Events like this matter because support is not always easy to find, and sometimes the first step is simply being in the right room with people who care and organizations ready to help.

Canvas of Courage continues with Cohort 4 at Phoenix Center for the Arts.

This week’s session, The Lesson I Learned, gives Veterans space to reflect on the experiences that shaped them and turn those lessons into creative expression.

What makes this program meaningful is the connection that happens in the room. Veterans are not being asked to have the perfect words or be professional artists. They are simply invited to show up, create, and be part of a community that understands the value of being heard.

As Cohort 4 continues, we are grateful for everyone who has helped build this space and for the Veterans who continue to trust the process.
