Pollinator Project Rogue Valley

Pollinator Project Rogue Valley Since 2017, a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We acknowledge that native people still live here, and deeply honor their sovereignty. Participate with us!

Inspiring, educating, and engaging youth and adults, creating more vibrant and resilient communities by increasing native plants for native pollinators - and people. We inspire, engage, and educate about the ecological importance of wild pollinator species and the diverse native plant communities essential for their survival. We are committed to the creation and restoration of pesticide-free polli

nator corridors throughout the Rogue Valley. We at Pollinator Project Rogue Valley humbly acknowledge that we work and live upon the ancestral territory of the Shasta and Takelma Tribes and other native peoples. We are grateful to the elders and their people who cared for these lands in close connection to the earth and all beings here. We are thankful to be on these sacred lands with the plants and animals that inhabit them. Pollinator Project Rogue Valley holds a vision for a more harmonious world, one where people, plants, and pollinators contribute to one another’s well-being in perfect harmony. Where would we be without our bees and other pollinators? The natural world as we know it relies on bees, butterflies, flower beetles, humming birds, and other specialized creatures for much of the life on this planet. These magnificent pollinators are responsible for the reproduction of most species of flowering plants and trees, as well as the agricultural crops we eat every day. These plants and the insects themselves, are an integral part of the food chain for birds, fish, and wildlife. Life as we know it would cease to exist without their magnificent and helpful endeavors. Pollinators play a essential role in the natural kingdom, and in humanity’s entire way of life. We mustn’t take them for granted. Through conscious awareness, we can contribute to their habitats and ensure their survival. Pollinators and other insects are declining at a disastrous rate, and need our help to survive. The pollinator crisis is a global issue…yet we can hold a vision of prospering our pollinators by being of service to them. What can we do at a local level? Take a stand against pesticide use in your neighborhood and your community. Plant a pollinator garden, no matter how small, lush with native plants, and other flowers favored by pollinators. Bring beauty into your own life through creating pollinator habitats. A farm, a garden, a flower bed, and even potted plants. You will be amazed and delighted as your pollinator guests begin to arrive. As you hear them flutter, buzz, and chirp, your spirits will lift with joy! Beauty makes the world go around. We must do what we can do to preserve life on this planet. Pollinator Project Rogue Valley invites you to be a “pollinator person.” Contribute to the greater good of the world. Find gentle, joyful, transformative, and creative ways to help pollinators prosper in the Rogue Valley and beyond. Spread the word to others. We hold a vision of “people, plants, and pollinators” co-creating together.

In our humble opinion, one of the jewels in the Southern Oregon landscape is the Ashland Food Co-op. Their business model serves the community beyond the grocery aisle - for years they have been supporting the community, including the many nonprofits who bring about the Change for Good that make this place such a great place to live.

In June, we are thrilled to be the Change for Good partner at the Ashland Food Co-op - all month long! Shop the Co-op for excellent groceries - from carrots to coconut water, dogfood to dishsoap, and one of the best deli's in town - and round up at the register to support our work! With their specialty of organic and pesticide-free food from local and family producers, we will be there eating lunch and meeting the community several times in June, and we'd love for you to join us!

Thanks for helping us save the pollinators with your Change for Good! And hey, did you know you can round up more than just the change?! :-)

BIG NEWS! The PPRV team is moving to a larger suite - right next door! With the entire suite, we will have more room to do our work - and windows!

PPRV board and staff are thrilled with this opportunity to move into Suite C, just next door to our current office (the back half of Suite B).

Suite C is larger - with offices (!) - which will greatly improve staff work life and productivity. There is also space for meetings with donors and community members, as well as for events!

But - with a larger space comes a larger monthly rent - increasing from about $715 to almost $1900. Wow. Much gratitude to a generous supporter for expressing confidence in our organization with a $10K pledge - contingent on us MATCHING that amount with community donations!

Will YOU Match the Pledge? Please support us in this not-to-be-missed opportunity to grow! From $5 to $5,000 - please click here to match this $10K pledge - and please share this opportunity with friends and neighbors! https://forms.donorsnap.com/form?id=68b92b6c-9eb5-4aa9-8b9e-301d1625139e

Thanks to Anthony Fong for making this excellent video with our team!

We will host a party in our new space soon, and look forward to seeing you there - if not before!

Truly, thank you for your support! We can't do what we do to save the pollinators without you!

Do you see that big Ceanothus Silk Moth? Our Pollinator Pals Education Coordinator Ethan Robison saw it, and many more moths at the wonderful Siskiyou Field Institute while learning about moths with local lepidopterists Dana Ross and Linda Kappen. The 2-day "Magnificent Moths" course led Ethan and the other participants through the hills and streams around the scenic Illinois Valley.
Siskiyou Field Institute specializes in immersive learning about the Klamath-Siskiyou ecoregion, considered one of six global “hot spots” for animal and plant species diversity. With field course topics ranging from birding, to geologic deep dives, to mycology, to endemic wildflowers, from half-day classes to full weekend excursions, they have opportunities for you whether you’re an amateur naturalist or professional ecologist. We highly recommend checking out their courses and camping options!
