Pink Skies is a Non-Profit Organization that provides resources and financial assistance to families that have lost a child from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (S.I.D.S). This Foundation has been created in honor of Madison "Mady" Paige Thelwell 02.10.11 to 05.27.11, in hopes of helping other families deal with one of the most devastating loses one person may ever experience. She was the most precio
us baby girl her family could have ever asked for, perfect in every way. Her family had the opportunity to enjoy three months and seventeen days of pure enjoyment with their little sissy. They enjoyed every second of her cuddles, hiccups and giggles. Even though the morning of Friday, May 27th started off as any other day, in the later afternoon hours Madison was taken by an army of angels up to dance in heaven. As any other typical day Mommy nursed Madison and laid her down for her afternoon nap. After a short time doing some errands around the house her mommy went back to check on the precious princess, where it was discovered that she was not breathing. This tragedy was absolutely devastating and turned the families life upside down. In the blink of any eye the most beautiful, precious, perfect little baby girl was ripped away from those that loved her most. The family was blessed to have family and friends come together to support and carry them through this terrible time in their life. Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles took care of all the arrangements from scheduling at the funeral home, writing the obituary and setting up the funeral arrangements. The family covered 100% of the costs for the funeral and also assisted with covering bills so that the parents could take time off of work. If it wasn't for the assistance from family and friends it is not certain that the family would have been able to lay their baby girl to rest. Some families may be in a situation where they don't have the financial and emotional backing that Madison's family was blessed with. That is why we created this non-profit organization in honor of baby Mady. This organization is taking shape in hopes of helping families get through one of the most devastating loses imaginable, the loss of a child. Our mission is to provide families with funding to allow them to take time off of work without falling behind on bills. Also, we will provide funding to assist or possibly even cover funeral expenses, provide food cards and even gas cards. We will also provide resources, such as information on funeral homes, referrals to counselors and support groups in your area and put families in contact with each other so that no one has to work through this loss alone. Our organization plans on having events a few times a year to bring in funding to continue helping families in our area that are affected by S.I.D.S. Our events will include a main event, activities for children, food and drink vendors, an auction, etc. We look forward to this journey that is about to unravel and look forward to all of you going on this journey with us. Please feel free to share any stories and pictures of children and families affected by Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. This is one of the most unexplainable, unpredictable deaths and unfortunately our society is no closer to pinning down exactly what causes S.I.D.S. No family can plan for such a loss and the affect on life is tremendous, but remember you don't have to go through it alone. Pink Skies Foundation will be there every step of the way.
