In 1925, Helen Keller challenged Lions to become “Knights of the Blind in the crusade against darkness.” Her powerful words helped shape Lions’ enduring commitment to vision care and continue to inspire Lions around the world today.
Lions’ Key Vision Programs:
Lions KidSight
Touchless digital vision screening programs are brought into schools and daycares to help identify potential vision problems in children early—when timely intervention can make a lasting difference.
Eyeglass Recycling
Lions collect donated prescription eyeglasses, then clean, sort, and prepare them for distribution to people in communities around the world who lack access to basic vision care and affordable glasses.
From Helen Keller’s challenge to today’s service, Lions continue to bring the gift of sight and the promise of a brighter future to those in need.
