Arizona Mining Association The Arizona Mining Association (AMA) is the primary advocacy group for the Arizona mining industry. Mining, it’s essential for your life.

The AMA promotes the mining industry through communicative, legislative, education initiatives. The Arizona Mining Association was founded in 1965 by three of the largest mineral mining companies in the state. Operating as a non-profit, the association was created with three primary objectives: 1) Promote legislation and government initiatives which would support and grow the mining industry of Ar

izona, 2) Develop programs and curriculum to educate Arizona residents of the impact mining has on their communities and the Arizona economy, and 3) Engage Arizona communities to enhance relationships between mining operators and civilian stakeholders. 50 years later the Arizona Mining Association remains the primary advocacy group for the Arizona mining industry and its stakeholders. Arizona’s mining and logging sector led job growth in March, adding 100 jobs, a 0.60% increase, while manufacturing continued to lag behind broader employment gains. The report noted that “This is a comparatively small sector but it has shown consistent growth over the last five years; today the state’s mining sector employs 44% more workers than it did in June 2020.” (Bureau of Labor Statistics)
