WE NEED YOU, TOLLESON!

It’s Hunger Action Month, and there’s no better time to turn your compassion into action.

Our newest location, HCC Tolleson, is open and serving families—and we need volunteers to help us make an impact!

Volunteering isn’t just giving your time. It’s helping a family put food on the table. It’s helping a parent feel supported. It’s showing our community that they are not alone.

A few hours can make a BIG difference!

We’re so grateful to Kroger for a $5,000 grant supporting Harvest Compassion Center!

This generous support will help us provide more fresh, nutrient-dense foods—including fruits, vegetables, protein, and dairy—to families in our community.

As the need for nutritious food continues to grow, support like this is critical to making sure families have access to the healthy options they need to thrive.

Thank you, Kroger, for investing in our community and helping us move closer to a future with Zero Hunger | Zero Waste.

It’s time for the Arizona Diaper Bank Statewide Diaper Drive! September 14–20, communities across Arizona are coming together to help provide diapers to families who need them.

1 in 2 families with young children struggle to afford diapers. And families cannot use SNAP or WIC benefits to purchase them.

You can be part of the solution! 🫶
🛒 Donate diapers from HCC’s Amazon Wish List — link in our bio
📍 Drop off diapers at your nearest Harvest Compassion Center

The most-needed sizes right now are 5, 6, 2T–3T and 4T–5T.

And YES—we accept opened boxes of diapers! If your little one has outgrown a size, bring those extras to HCC. We’ll make sure they reach a family who can use them.

Together, we can help our youngest clients live with health, dignity and hope.

25 YEARS LATER, WE REMEMBER. WE SERVE.

Today, we remember the lives lost, the heroes who sprang into action and the incredible spirit of unity that brought our nation together 25 years ago.

The 9/11 Day movement was created with a simple but powerful idea: turn remembrance into action. Instead of only looking back, use this day to do something good for others.

At Harvest Compassion Center, we believe service is one of the most meaningful ways to strengthen our community—and we need YOU.

We have volunteer shifts available throughout September at HCC. Give a few hours of your time. Stock shelves. Welcome a family. Organize donations. Lend a helping hand.

Honor the spirit of 9/11 by serving your community.

FOOD DRIVE 101: YOU CAN DO THIS!

Want to make a difference during Hunger Action Month but not sure where to start? Hosting a food drive is one of the easiest ways to rally your family, coworkers, church, school or community group to help stock the shelves at HCC!

Here’s your simple Food Drive 101:
-Pick a group. Gather your coworkers, friends, neighbors, team or classmates.
-Pick a goal. 50 cans? 100 pounds? Go big—or keep it simple!
-Pick a need. Canned fruit, cereal, peanut butter, pasta and canned meats are always great choices.
-Collect & deliver. Once your boxes are full, bring your donations to HCC!
And remember—every can matters. What starts as one person asking, “How can I help?” can turn into an entire community coming together to fight hunger.

Ready to host a food drive? Send us a message, or email Lauren at [email protected], and let’s get started!

🤝 Stronger communities start with connection!

We were thrilled to welcome Elvia Zaragoza and the Healthy Families team from Southwest Human Development to HCC Tolleson for a tour and an opportunity to learn more about what we do.

By learning about HCC and the resources we offer, the Healthy Families team can help connect the families they work with to additional support when they need it.

We’re grateful for partners who are committed to helping Arizona families thrive—and for the opportunity to work together to make sure families know help is here when they need it.

Thank you, Southwest Human Development for spending time with us!

SEPTEMBER IS HUNGER ACTION MONTH!

Hunger Action Month is a time for communities to come together and take tangible action to make a difference for neighbors experiencing food insecurity. In Arizona, more than 1 million people—including 291,290 children—are facing hunger.

This September, HCC is challenging YOU to help us clear our Canned Fruit Wish List! 🍑🍐🍊 We’ve added canned fruit, pouches and cups to our Amazon Wish List, and if we clear the entire list, more than 1,600 servings of fruit will be on our shelves for children, families and seniors who need a little extra help this fall.

🎯 Our challenge: Donate from our wish list, link in our bio. Share this post. Tag a friend. Tell your family, coworkers, church or favorite community group about HCC’s Canned Fruit Challenge!

Let’s clear the list and turn Hunger Action Month into action!

A HUGE thank you to Boys Team Charity Cactus League!

Today, HCC Development Coordinator Jenni had the opportunity to speak at their meeting—and they showed up in a BIG way! Together, they collected an incredible 389 boxes of cereal to help stock the shelves at Harvest Compassion Center. 🥣

But they didn’t stop there! All three of our volunteer dates were filled with boys and their parents ready to serve alongside us. 🙌

We are so grateful for their generosity, their willingness to serve, and the example they’re setting for what it means to care for our community. Thank you, Boys Team Charity Cactus League, for helping make a difference!
