Here’s what our Programs Intern Audrey had to say about her time with us. We’re grateful for the creativity, energy, and heart she brought to the team, and we look forward to seeing where God leads her next!

Abiding comes before fruit.

In places where resources are limited and the work is demanding, the call remains the same: stay rooted in Christ. Because true fruitfulness does not come from circumstance, but from dependence on Him.

Why “Flourish”?

The name was chosen with intention.
Not because every circumstance is easy,
but because true flourishing is possible, even in hard places,
when people are rooted, supported, and sustained in the work God has called them to.

Across Africa and Asia, local missionaries are already faithfully serving.
They lead churches, disciple believers, and walk closely with people through hardship and hope.

Yet many are doing this while quietly struggling to meet their family’s basic needs.

Flourish walks alongside these families as they begin micro-projects that become sustainable sources of income they can own, grow, and depend on.

Not simply a handout, but a launchpad.

Across different refugee settlements in Uganda, the situations vary, but some things are the same.
The leaders there are already serving. They’re pastoring, discipling, and showing up for people day after day. At the same time, they’re also trying to provide for their own families in places where work is limited and resources don’t always stretch far.
These aren’t just projects being started. They’re people making decisions in the middle of real life.
Some are fathers trying to provide for their children. Some are pastors carrying both ministry and family at once. All of them are working with what they have in front of them.
Through Flourish, they’re beginning to build something more steady. Not all at once, and not in the same way, but in ways that fit their context and their community.

Meet Pastor Okany from South Sudan. 👆

After accepting Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1996, Pastor Okany felt called into ministry through Scripture that still guides him today: “to equip God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up” (Ephesians 4:11–12).

In 2010, after years of faithfully serving his community, he was ordained as a pastor. Not long after, violence forced Pastor Okany to flee South Sudan. He was attacked for refusing to give medical supplies to armed groups while managing a primary health care unit. Fearing for his life, he crossed into Uganda alone. Months later, his wife and children were able to reunite with him at Palorinya Refugee Settlement, now home to more than 120,000 displaced people.

Today, he’s been given the opportunity to start a micro-project within the camp that will change his life, and those in his community, for generations to come. All because of our faithful Mission ONE donors, like YOU.

Yesterday, we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus and remembered that death does not have the final word.

Over the past forty days, we slowed down together through A Journey Toward Resurrection, reflecting on Scripture and hearing from the voices of our partners and missionaries serving around the world. Through their reflections, we were reminded not only of the hope we have in Christ, but also of the everyday faithfulness of those living out the gospel in their communities.

These leaders walk with families through hardship, disciple new believers, and faithfully serve their communities day after day. During this Lenten season, they invited us into both Scripture and their stories, offering a glimpse of the work God is doing through them.
Our prayer is that what began during Lent continues in the quiet decisions of everyday life, and that the hope of the empty tomb would shape your ordinary days.

If the voices you heard during this season encouraged you, we invite you to take one more step in the journey by supporting the partners who shared with us. Your generosity helps sustain their work and strengthens the communities they serve.

The culmination of the journey toward resurrection.
After weeks of repentance, surrender, waiting, and being shaped by grace, we arrive not at an ending, but at victory. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not merely an event to remember, but the divine confirmation that the work of the cross is complete, accepted, and victorious!
Sin is paid for, death is defeated, and the grave has no claim over those who are in Him. As Jonathan Edwards wrote, “Christ’s resurrection is the foundation of our hope,” and it is this sure and unshakable hope that anchors us now. We do not stand at the empty tomb in passing wonder, but in deep assurance that Christ has finished the work, that new life is not earned but given, and that all who are united to Him will share in His victory.

This is the joy of Easter, the fullness of all that Lent has been leading us toward: He is risen, and because He lives, those who put their trust in Him too shall live.

Not sorrow without hope.
Not suffering without purpose.
Even at the cross, there was joy set before Him.
As we enter this weekend, we fix our eyes on Jesus:
the One who endured, the One who finished,
the One who now reigns.
