At just 21, Christine is an orphan who finished as the top candidate in her entire school but she couldn't afford to go to university. In Uganda, reaching university is a rare, hard-won achievement. Students must pass rigorous exams at every stage just to qualify. Christine did. But qualifying isn't the same as being able to go.⁠

Because of generous supporters, that's no longer true for her.⁠
⁠
Christine's university costs are now fully funded. She's pursuing her dream of becoming a university lecturer spending her life helping others see, in her own words, "the beauty of being educated."⁠

Meet Gerald, one of the young men in our Uganda sponsorship program! 💙

An intellectual disability meant he couldn’t continue in school, so his sponsor helped set him up with something different: an income generating project. Today he owns two cows. He feeds them, milks them, and sells that milk to help support himself and his family, something that carries real pride and standing in Uganda.

This is what sponsorship can look like at Hope 4 Kids International. When a child can no longer continue in school, we look for another path, one that leads to dignity and empowers them to break the cycle of poverty.
