Happy Monday — and a correction to our U.S. News and World Report shoutout. ❤️

In our excitement over Arizona’s strong showing in the new Best High Schools rankings, we missed two charter schools that should have been on our list.

Our original post drew from early Arizona reporting that highlighted only part of the statewide picture. After going back through the full rankings, we found:

Maricopa Institute of Technology - #17 in Arizona
NPA (Northland Preparatory Academy) - #18 in Arizona

Which means the news is even better than we first reported:

17 of Arizona’s Top 25 public high schools are public charter schools!

Congratulations to the students, educators, school leaders and families at MIT and NPA — and to all 17 Arizona charter schools represented in the state’s Top 25.

Sometimes the best correction is discovering there’s even more to celebrate. ❤️

And here’s the national perspective. 🇺🇸

In the new U.S. News and World Report 2026–27 Best High Schools rankings, 13 Arizona public high schools made the national Top 100.

Eleven of those 13 are public charter schools.

That’s a remarkable showing for Arizona students and educators, and a strong reflection of the quality and opportunity found across our charter sector.

U.S. News evaluated nearly 18,000 public high schools nationwide, making this recognition especially meaningful.

Arizona charter schools aren’t just part of the national conversation. They’re helping lead it.

Arizona's public charter schools have a lot to celebrate today

The new U.S. News and World Report Best High Schools rankings are out, and 15 of Arizona's public charter schools are among the Top 25 public high schools in the state.

Congratulations to Arizona School for the Arts, Horizon Honors Secondary School, Madison Highland Prep Scottsdale Prep - a Great Hearts Academy and to to the 11 BASIS.ed schools earning Top 25 recognition!

All of these schools represent different communities and educational models - from the arts and classical education to STEM and college preparation.
