Hello Fabulous Community!
We have been busy, busy, busy here at PSFR!
You may have seen one of the many lectures we have done this spring on Emergency Preparedness, Hazardous Ignition Zones and what you can do as a property owner in Rim Country or Wildfire Mitigation - Front Door to Forest Floor! It has been a pleasure getting out and speaking with all of you. We have been invited to speak in Nevada and Texas because folks out there are impressed with all that our Rim Country does to Reduce the Risk of Catastrophic Wildfire!
We have one more coming up with the Rim Country Chamber of Commerce. More details coming soon!
You may have seen that we finished the 21 mile loop in Pine! An endeavor that was many years in the making but we are not happy resting on our laurels...
It's on to the next project and it is a good one!
Pine Strawberry Fuel Reduction has submitted a Transportation Alternatives grant application on behalf of Tonto National Forest.
The project comprises design engineering and preparation of construction bid documents for proposed new Bradshaw Trailhead, located on SR 87 south of Pine. The scope includes a parking area, ramada, vault toilet, and a bike skills park. The new trailhead will be located adjacent to Passage 25 of the Arizona Trail, serving both section hikers and thru hikers and utilizes an area that is currently begging for more.
The existing Pine trailhead on the opposite side of SR87, half a mile to the north of this project, often is filled to capacity. Moreover, no protected highway crossing exists. The new Bradshaw Trailhead is needed to serve an expected visitor volume ranging up to hundreds per day on busy weekends.
We look forward to bringing you more news on this project in the near future!
