Today, we celebrate one of the women who helped shape the heart and legacy of NAHN Phoenix—our original co-founder, Dra. Ester Ruiz. 💙
Dra. Ruiz has been a source of inspiration, mentorship, and leadership for generations of nurses, nurse leaders, and nurse educators. Her commitment to opening doors and paving the way for those who follow has made an incredible impact both locally and nationally.
The NAHN Phoenix community has always held her close, and we are so proud that her impact has been recognized at the national level. At the 51st NAHN National Gala, Past National President Dra. Veronica Vital honored Dra. Ruiz with the prestigious National President’s Award, a true reflection of her lasting contributions to the nursing profession and to NAHN.
Her impact was also celebrated locally when our Past President Ashley Merida presented her with the President’s Award last December.
Dra. Ruiz, thank you for leading the way, believing in future generations, and creating a legacy that continues to inspire us all. Your NAHN family loves and appreciates you more than words can say! 🌟

Thank you so much, NAHN , for another incredible and successful conference, and thank you, National Association of Hispanic Nurses - Denver Chapter for being such amazing hosts!

As we all arrive back home and reflect on this past week, we’re filled with gratitude for this incredible community that comes together each year with a shared purpose and mission.

We’ll be sharing more soon from the gala, celebrating the awards our chapter brought home, and recapping the unforgettable 51st Annual Conference.
