Arizona Chapter of The TEARS Foundation Helping bereaved families honor the life of a child. We also believe that every grieving parent deserves access to ongoing bereavement support.

The TEARS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that seeks to compassionately lift a financial burden from families who have lost a baby by providing funds to assist with the cost of burial or cremation services. We believe that every baby's life deserves to be honored and memorialized in accordance with the grieving parents' wishes and are committed to helping bereaved parents with this experience. Therefore, we also offer parents comprehensive bereavement care in the form of grief support groups and peer companions. History
The TEARS Foundation was started in 2002 by its Founder, Sarah Slack. Sarah and her husband, Sanford, experienced the stillbirth of their son, Jesse Curtis Slack on November 14, 2000. Through the loss of her son, Sarah decided to turn her tragedy into an opportunity to reach out to other families who have lost a baby and make a positive impact in her community. Since its inception, The TEARS Foundation has served thousands of families in need with both financial and emotional support services. On October 15, 2026, TEARS will gather at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC for our National Wave of Light honoring the babies who will forever be loved and remembered.

We’re extending our $1 registration so every family who wants the opportunity can have their baby’s name honored at this national event.

Your $1 registration includes:

• Your baby’s name on a luminary bag, with photos shared here on social media
• Your baby’s name read aloud during our livestreamed ceremony from our nation’s capital
• The opportunity to create a team in your baby’s memory

Fundraising is optional. If you choose to fundraise, your efforts help TEARS continue providing vital support and programs for grieving families.

1,000 Babies’ Names. One Night.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month 💗🩵

On October 15th, we will gather at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. to honor babies gone too soon.

Our goal: 1,000 babies’ names remembered, each one written on a luminary bag, each one glowing with candlelight.

No matter where you live in the world, your baby can be part of this moment.

Your baby’s name will be:
• Displayed on a luminary at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool
• All luminaries will be posted on our social media

🤍 Remembering Axl Robert 🤍

Born sleeping at 19 weeks gestation on September 27, 2024, Axl Robert was deeply loved from the very beginning. Though his time here was far too brief, his life is meaningful, and his name will always be spoken with love.

Axl’s mom shared these beautiful words with us:

“On September 13, 2025, we welcomed his brother, our rainbow baby boy. We just knew Axl’s little soul found his way back to us.” 🪽

Today, we honor Axl Robert and hold his family close in our hearts. A precious son, forever loved, forever remembered.
