It is with a heavy heart that we are sharing the news that Rogue Action Center has made the difficult decision to wind down our operations. While the current economic landscape and funding shifts have made it impossible for us to sustain our work, we refuse to let this moment be defined by loss. Instead, we choose to celebrate the incredible strides we’ve made together in the fight for our community, our youth, and to change the rules.
Movement work is never truly lost; it simply changes shape. Over the years, we have seen our LGBTQ Listening Project and Disaster Relief Team take shape and served many in our community especially after the Almeda Fire. We’ve produced Pride in Josephine County and trained and provided hundreds of De-escalation volunteers to keep our community safe. We’ve trained, with our good partner Rogue Climate, over 270 youth interns who have focused on organizing and who have gone on to be leaders in our communities. Those impacts will continue long after our doors close.
In the coming weeks we are focused on ensuring RAC’s sunsetting process is completed with the utmost care and intention. Our priority is ensuring a soft landing for the community members we serve and the values we uphold. To this end, we have compiled an initial resource list (available on the Rogue Action Center website) for our supporters to find like organizations in our community to continue the fight for human dignity.
We are deeply grateful to our donors, partners, and every individual who stood with us. You fueled a belief that every human being deserves to be seen and valued, and that we are all stronger together. We look forward to seeing how the seeds planted here continue to flourish in new spaces. Thank you for being part of our story. The mission continues through all of you.
