Esther’s family overslept.

Normally, her children arrive at school by 6:30 a.m. But after one especially comfortable night, no one wanted to wake up.

For years, Esther’s children had often slept on the floor of their small home. Then an unexpected visit brought a new bed, mattresses, blankets, and other practical household support.

What happened next became a family story they still tell with laughter.

Christine is balancing university classes with a growing baking business. Some days, she bakes late into the night and delivers cakes after lectures.

Her journey with MOHI began in preschool and continued through education, sponsorship, mentorship, and technical training. At the MOHI Technical Training Institute, Christine developed the baking skills she now uses to support herself while pursuing her degree.

What began with a small secondhand oven in her hostel room is helping her cover living expenses and work toward her dream of opening a bakery one day.

Elenah’s story is a beautiful reminder that God often works through steady faithfulness over many years.

After finishing school, Elenah moved to Nairobi, hoping to find work and help support her family. Life was difficult, and providing regular meals for her children was not always possible. But when her family became connected with MOHI, new support began to take shape through education, meals, medical care, employment, and a community that walked alongside them.

Over time, Elenah’s own calling grew.

She first served as a cook at a MOHI school, preparing meals for more than 1,000 students each day. To her, it was more than cooking. It was ministry.

Years later, she pursued training in Early Childhood Development Education and became a teacher at MOHI. Today, she helps nurture and encourage children in vulnerable communities like the one where she once lived.

“Every day as I walk home from school, I feel so fulfilled, so happy,” Elenah says. “I look forward to the next day so that I can continue impacting the lives that God has placed in my hands.”

“The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” — Psalm 121:7–8

This is a beautiful reminder that God’s care is constant. He is not only present in the big moments of our lives, but also in the ordinary ones. He watches over our coming and going, our work and rest, our moments of joy and seasons of uncertainty.

There are times when life feels heavy, when the road ahead feels unclear, or when we wonder if God sees what we are carrying. But this psalm reminds us that the Lord is our keeper. He is faithful to guard, guide, and sustain His people.

Today, we can rest in this promise: we are never outside of God’s care. Wherever we go, whatever we face, He goes before us, walks with us, and watches over us with unfailing love.

Elizabeth has carried more than most.

After losing her husband, she continued raising five children. She was working, providing, and caring for a child with a disability, even when each day felt uncertain. Her strength and perseverance shaped the path forward for her family.

Over time, with support, community, and a growing faith, her story began to shift. What once felt overwhelming slowly gave way to stability, renewed relationships, and hope for her children’s future.

Even in the middle of trouble, David chose to remember the faithfulness of God. His circumstances were not easy, but his confidence was anchored in the One who remained his refuge and strength.

Sharon held onto a dream for years, even when the path forward felt uncertain.

After losing her mother and facing ongoing financial hardship, continuing her education became difficult. For a time, it felt like her future was standing still while others moved ahead. Still, she kept hoping and kept moving forward.

With perseverance and support through MOHI’s skills training program, Sharon was able to study fashion design and begin working at Stitches of Hope, MOHI's garment production unit. Today, she is creating garments, supporting herself, and continuing to grow in both her skills and her faith.
