You’re invited! December to Remember is an annual celebration of Karenni culture and heritage, held in Phoenix, Arizona. For five years, it’s been an important year-end event in the Karenni community. Coming together for two days, December to Remember is a showcase of what we love about our culture, a chance to reaffirm our identity, values and hope, an opportunity for the generations to spend time with each other.

If you’re Karenni, you know how challenging it’s been to hold onto the culture we love, after we came to the United States as refugees. If you’re one of our non-Karenni neighbors, we want to share with you the pride we have for what is beautiful and enduring about the Karenni people and their heritage.

With two days of soccer and volleyball at city parks, plus an evening event in an auditorium featuring singing, dance and a fashion show, December to Remember is an exciting and friendly get-together of Karenni people from all over the United States, along with some of our new American friends. There will be plenty to see and hear. We’d like you to join us in the celebration!

Congratulations to these soccer and volleyball teams claiming the championship at our Arizona Karenni community second's fundraiser at Washington Park. We thank all the friends and family who helped to make this fundraising happen 🙌.

“How can we protect ourselves from getting injured at work?”

Occupational Health and safety training—language will be provided in English and Karenni. Get your OHS certification for your workplace, which you can add to your resume, teach, or help Karenni in your community if they face safety, health, or rights violations at work.

As Karenni, we should learn more about our rights to a safe & respected workplace, especially if we're looked down upon or told to do unsafe things just because we don't understand or speak English well at work. This is an excellent opportunity to expand our knowledge regarding workplace safety and health or rights violations.
