Valley of the Sun Cherokees is an at-large community of Cherokee Nation citizens in the Phoenix, Arizona area dedicated to the preservation and continuation of our culture. MISSION & PURPOSE

Our mission is to sustain our Cherokee heritage in all of its meanings while identifying innovative methods of strengthening ties that bind our People with each other and practice responsible citizenship in a

ll communities in which we live. The Valley of the Sun Cherokees is a community of Cherokees and supporters who have come together based on our origin of shared traditions, culture, heritage, history, and sustained interests and caring for our People and humanity. We are a non-partisan, non-profit Native American organization whose members reside outside the boundaries of the Cherokee Nation and Cherokee Bands jurisdictions.

This month, we invite you to join us for "ᏣᎳᎩ: Wherever We Are, Miss Cherokee," a special virtual event premiering Saturday, June 20, at noon CT. Together, we'll explore the legacy of Miss Cherokee — what the title asks of those who hold it, what it means for the Cherokee people, and how it has shaped the lives of the young women who have worn the crown."
