Valley of the Sun Cherokees is an at-large community of Cherokee Nation citizens in the Phoenix, Arizona area dedicated to the preservation and continuation of our culture. MISSION & PURPOSE

Our mission is to sustain our Cherokee heritage in all of its meanings while identifying innovative methods of strengthening ties that bind our People with each other and practice responsible citizenship in a

ll communities in which we live. The Valley of the Sun Cherokees is a community of Cherokees and supporters who have come together based on our origin of shared traditions, culture, heritage, history, and sustained interests and caring for our People and humanity. We are a non-partisan, non-profit Native American organization whose members reside outside the boundaries of the Cherokee Nation and Cherokee Bands jurisdictions.

Please join us on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. for our Council Meeting. Along with our usual agenda, we will be working on planning the 2027 Calendar. Please either join us in person at Native Health in Phoenix or via the Zoom link below. We would like to hear your ideas for monthly gatherings in the coming year because they would be of value to all of our entire community.

A few months ago, Valley of the Sun Cherokees received a Wellness grant from the Cherokee Nation.
It was decided at that time to present to our members an opportunity to to be reimbursed up to $200.00 for the purchase of passes to various locations.
We still have funds to spend and am passing along the info to you again.

If you have not taken the opportunity to partake in this offer, you may do so now.

CCO Staff provides cultural and historical information as well as coordinating visits to the communities from the Chief and local community activities.
