Week 2 of Ignite Leadership Cohort is in the books!

These leaders tackled some tough topics, asked questions of our guest facilitator Joysaphine Waitman-Powell , and got a chance to hear about her first hand experience as a Commissioner and Ignite leader.

So far, our leaders have learned to align their passion with their purpose, identify their desired leadership role and its now to time to jump into action!

We are excited to see what’s next for these community leaders 🔥🔥🔥

08/21/2026

WOW! WOW! WOW! Ignite is underway and we’re already blown away by the energy in the room. We have 25+ leaders who are ready to build power, take up space, and secure their seat at the leadership table.

Each of these community leaders has a different, powerful and inspirational story but the message is always the same: We need people power, and if there’s no seat for us at the table? We’ll build a table.

This fellowship has community members thinking about the future, planning with their neighbors, and figuring out where they can make the most impact!

We’re so proud already and excited to see what this group of leaders can do!

Arizona has the power—and the responsibility—to lead on clean energy. 🌵⚡️

Lawmakers can take real steps right now to build a cleaner, more affordable future:
✅ Invest in renewable energy like solar and wind to lower costs and reduce pollution
✅ Expand energy efficiency programs so families can save on their utility bills
✅ Support rooftop solar and community solar to give renters and working families access
✅ Protect communities from harmful pollution and prioritize clean air in frontline neighborhoods
✅ Hold utility companies accountable to serve people—not just profits

Clean energy isn’t just about the environment—it’s about affordability, health, and economic opportunity for all Arizonans.

The path forward is clear. Now we need leadership to act.

Happy Earth Day 🌍

Let’s be real: the fight for clean air is a fight for our communities—and clean energy is part of the solution.
Black and Brown communities are disproportionately impacted by asthma and other respiratory illnesses. That’s not by chance—it’s the result of long-standing environmental inequities.

The good news? We have options.

Clean energy—like solar, wind, and nuclear—can reduce pollution, improve air quality, and save lives.
But change doesn’t happen on its own.

Join us. Take action. Sign the Clean Air Pledge today at cleanenergyclearlungs.org and be part of the movement for healthier communities. ✊

This week, we’re diving into the power of clean energy and what it means for our communities, our health, and our future.

Take a moment. Take a deep breath. And learn more about why clean air matters at cleanenergyclearlungs.org.
