Official page for the Phoenix Guitar Society. We will share our performances as part of our outreach program.

The Phoenix Guitar Society began as a group of classical guitarists with a desire to promote the artistry of performance and build support for guitar within the community. Our goal is to continue to promote and support practicing musicians through public and private performances. Providing support to music students is important to the values of the Phoenix Guitar Society. With the continued growth

and funding we wish to implement a scholarship program for those pursuing a music education. Additionally, a tiered concert series will be developed to promote and support the guitar, as well as setting a standard for the support of performing artists. The society will also be a central resource for people to find independent music teachers and performers for special events. Our success will be measured by how well we enhance our community and increase appreciation for the artistry of the guitar.

The Glendale Guitar Orchestra hosts special guests Freddy Vazquez and Jose Luis Puerta, along with the award-winning GCC Guitar Quartet. Friday at 7pm, free admission, GCC Perfomring Arts Center.

Closing out our 10th year of PGS and our 25-26 concert series!! and will share a split recital of solo and duo spanning works of Villa Lobos, Sageras, Assad, Lauro and more! Two great performance personalities under the tutalege of will be an excellent Sunday of music, April 19th at 2:00PM, Suggested donation of 10$, We’ll see you there for the closing of our Guest Artist Series!!

PGS is 10 years old this year!!! Some of us remember when PGS was saying its first words and barely able to walk. Now everyone at the family function says “woah! how tall are you getting now?” They grow up so fast. What an incredible milestone, and a great year of concerts to celebrate this success!! We are so excited to be kicking off our 10th year of PGS!! I cannot think of a better way to start than our first guest artist of the 25-26 guest artist series. Maxi Larrea, Misael Barraza-Diaz and Andres Pantoja are the 3 brilliant musicians behind the bringing together new compositions and original arrangements showcasing traditional and contemporary tango pieces. See you September 14th!

PGS is excited to keep our guest artists series rolling with a newly local favorite and his duo partner. just moved to town with the last few years and we are delighted to bring him and the jazz stylings of Howard Alden to the guest artist series. It was an amazing day with so many good friends, and great music. Thank you everyone who came out to support the guest artist series! And thank you and GCC for putting on a fabulous concert of music. We are so lucky to have amazing artists in our community! See you all in Feb of 2025 where will kick off the second leg of our guest artist series with all of you!!
