Medical Treatments

01/22/26 15:50 Prior to radiographs, an orthopedic exam was done. There is a significant medial buttress palpable in the left stifle. Stifle is thickened. No drawer sign could be demonstrated. Unable to luxate patellas. Radiographic interpretation. There are numerous osteophytes present around both stifles. A thick band of soft tissue is present on the medial aspect of the left stifle. Findings are consistent with OA and DJD probably secondary to a chronic ACL tear. Dog is going to require a geriatric work up and long term treatment. A shelter is not the appropriate environment for this care. Place dog on portal, urgent medical. If no outlet by COB on 01/29/26, is at risk for humane euthanasia on 01/30/26. Dog is available for PUFA as long as adopters are fully aware of all of her medical issues. Dog is not appropriate for foster. Continue gabapentin as prescribed.

We need our senior dog lovers to the front!🗣️

This is 10 year old, Ella (FKA Rutilla), a senior pup who was adopted two years ago from MCACC (after spending months there) and was bounced around from place to place. The adopter attempted to rehome her multiple times due to owners inconsistent lifestyle, and finally, a couple weeks ago, surrendered ownership to a dedicated volunteer who loves and cares about her. This amazing volunteer wants to help foster Ella, but she needs our help.

At adoption, Four Paws and Friends assisted the owner a bit because Ella had diagnosed thyroid issues and skin allergies. This is a monthly expense so we wanted to make sure she was treated to start the adoption off.

Cut to now, she was surrendered in bad shape. She has bacterial and fungal infections in her paws, severe allergies, hypothyroidism, arthritis, and multiple masses that need to be evaluated and possibly removed surgically.

The amazing Four Paws has offered to help Ella as she is now in a good situation to get the care she needs. Ella has had a rough go at life at no fault of her own. She deserves the care she needs.

🐾Ella is dog, cat, people, and kid friendly. The foster loves her and is willing to care for her until we can find her a forever home.

If you are interested in meeting Ella, please message us and we will connect you to her foster.

But honestly, any amount to help with Ella’s medical care would mean the world to us. You can donate via fb, but please see the options below as well:

🎄12 Dogs of Christmas – #6: Canelo🎄

How does a gentle, 7-year-old, well-mannered dog end up alone at a park? 💔

Canelo was FOUND AT A PARK — friendly with the children, friendly with strangers… and he even JUMPED RIGHT INTO FINDERS CAR. Someone clearly loved him once. He even had a microchip, but no one ever came.

Canelo is the kind of dog who makes the world a better place…
✨ Walks beside you with perfect, gentleman-like manners
✨ Knows his sit + down
✨ Takes treats with the softest touch
✨ Naps in the car like your cozy road-trip companion
✨ Loves leisure strolls through the park, lunch dates, and simply being close

He may be a little extra “cuddly” around the waistline, but honestly? It just makes the snuggles better. 😉

This tender boy is sitting on cold cement floors at the shelter… waiting for the warmth of someone to choose him. He’s so ready to curl beside you under a soft blanket, drift off to Christmas movies, and finally feel at home.

Please share to help this sweet pup find the love he so deeply deserves. ❤️🐾✨

❤️BING NEEDS a SPECIAL ADOPTER or RESCUE/FOSTER ❤️

***FOSTER, ADOPT, SHARE, PLEDGE ****

Is that you?

At only 6 yrs old, Bing found himself as a stray at the scary shelter. 😞 since intake he quietly sits and waits for that special someone who will take him home and give him all the love and care he needs.

His intake date was 9/7/25 - he has been at the shelter over 60 days !

Bing makes the cutest grunts as his cheeks get caressed. He loves treats (takes them super gentle) but seems to truly enjoy being pet and given attention. Bing is not super active so would be great fit for someone looking for companionship without a lot of activity!

Bing has a soft, but firm, mass on his right hind leg . He also has developed some irritation around his belly and privates that could be related to the strong chemicals used at the shelter.

Four Paws and Friends are sponsoring $300.00 towards his medical once adopted or rescued.

This is why a special adopter or rescue is needed. Aside from the mass, he has a few older man lumps /bumps but that doesn’t stop him from showing off his sweet personality!

Hercules
🚑Has a deadline of 11/9/25 and needs a Foster and New Hope Rescue for an a**l gland mass.

Hercules story is a sad one. This senior boy has been brought into the shelter on four separate occasions through no fault of his own, he remains incredibly sweet and gentle.
Hercules walked up to a person and their dogs and followed them home.😭 At the finders home Hercules got along with the big and small dogs and he was good with the kids.🥰 He barks when he needs to go outside and potty. He likes lying around and relaxing. 😴 Herc sounds like the perfect senior boy.😍
Hercules is 10 years old and weighs around 79 pounds. He is a black/white pitty.
