Medical Treatments
01/22/26 15:50 Prior to radiographs, an orthopedic exam was done. There is a significant medial buttress palpable in the left stifle. Stifle is thickened. No drawer sign could be demonstrated. Unable to luxate patellas. Radiographic interpretation. There are numerous osteophytes present around both stifles. A thick band of soft tissue is present on the medial aspect of the left stifle. Findings are consistent with OA and DJD probably secondary to a chronic ACL tear. Dog is going to require a geriatric work up and long term treatment. A shelter is not the appropriate environment for this care. Place dog on portal, urgent medical. If no outlet by COB on 01/29/26, is at risk for humane euthanasia on 01/30/26. Dog is available for PUFA as long as adopters are fully aware of all of her medical issues. Dog is not appropriate for foster. Continue gabapentin as prescribed.
