Benevilla’s terrific Aging Well Caregiver Connect event brought together vital health, wellness and caregiver resources and featured an insightful presentation by Hospice of the Valley’s Dementia Program director, Maribeth Gallagher. Our community liaisons, Jennifer Priest Mitchell and Patti Sheridan (pictured), were delighted to meet residents and share valuable programs that support families.

We know dementia caregivers rarely get a break, even though resting is critical. That's why we partnered with Arizona State University to launch RISE — Respite In Student Engagement. The program connects specially trained ASU students with families to provide affordable respite and meaningful companionship for people living with dementia, both at home or in a care facility. In every visit, they not only meet personal care needs but also offer a listening ear, a comforting presence... and even a song. This year, Certified Nursing Assistant Week is aptly themed, "We're Unbelievable." Happy CNA Week from all of us!

A big shout-out to the National Charity League, Inc., Moon Valley Chapter for sharing their time and baking talents with patients, families and staff at Hospice of the Valley’s Levine Home. Their blueberry muffins and pizza rolls brought comfort, smiles and homemade goodness to our inpatient care home. 🧁🍕

We were honored to bring our Dementia Moments experience to an awesome team at Central Arizona Shelter Services — pictured in the special gear we provide for this eye-opening simulation. Rebekah Wilson, Hospice of the Valley's director of dementia education and partnerships, led the workshop and cherished the collaboration to support vulnerable populations living with dementia.
