This is South Phoenix; where mothers and infants face one of the highest mortality rates in the nation. Each item in the dust represents a story cut short, a heartbeat silenced to soon. In the “richest country,” no mother should have to bury her child because care was out of reach, and no family should endure the heartbreak of losing an expectant mother. This community is officially designated a Medically Underserved Area, and that data tells a story we can't ignore. Families here face fewer clinics, fewer primary care providers, longer travel times, and higher rates of chronic illness. Mothers are more likely to receive late or no prenatal care, and Arizona's infant mortality rate has risen hitting communities like South Phoenix the hardest. These aren't random outcomes, they're the predictable results of limited access, transportation gaps, and a system that has never invested equitably. Economically, the pattern is the same. South Phoenix is one of the state's largest persistent poverty regions. Opportunities that that fuel stability in other parts of the valley simply aren't distributed here.

NONE of this happened by CHANCE. But here's the truth: Communities don't stay underserved when people choose to support them. That's were Life More Abundantly steps in.
