What a great day it was down town selling our chickens and apple crisp at the festival. Thank you to the town and all involved putting this together, Too the VFW members that helped out today you all rocked it like always love you all.

We have had many calls coming in so thought this needed to be addressed. Maybe this should have been posted sooner than now but honestly we shouldn't have to post it at all. Cutting through the parking lot is no longer an option. BARRIERS ARE UP. We have had to many incidents with certain individuals flying through the parking lot of this private property. THIS IS NOT A DRIVE THRU !!! We have a pavilion we rent out for grad parties, Birthday parties, reunions, etc. Veterans and patrons come in and out and none of them need to be at risk of being hit by disrespectful individuals. We have you on video and your plate number so this is your warning. Please be respectful and kind. This is private property. We love our village and all of our veterans and patrons and don't want to see anyone hurt. This should have never been an issue but unfortunately here we are. God bless 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

We are going downtown for the Oktoberfest so we will be seasoning chickens at 4:30 o’clock on Thursday and getting ready to go down there, looking for help for seasoning and working downtown at the event. Thank you all

We are so sorry for any confusion about the Chicken BBQ tomorrow. We are preparing for the Locktoberfest Saturday 10-3 and will not be doing BBQ tomorrow. We will be on State Street next Saturday with our Chicken. Choice of Mac Salad or Salt Potatoes and beans. For dessert we have our fabulous Apple Crisp. We hope to see you there 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

We have a nonprofit organization that donates to us every year around Memorial weekend different things that we can give out to help people. This year we are blessed with two wheelchairs and one scooter. The nonprofit is Mother Goose. You might’ve heard of them. I would like to give them a big thank you from VfW Post 5540 veterans and auxiliary for this donation. So far we are able to give Nico one of the wheelchairs which comes with a five-year warranty and we are also fortunate to give one of our veterans the scooter, Preston Bond, who is a new amputee from his leg to his knee now. This will help these two individuals every day in their daily life and make it easier. VFW Post 5540 veterans and auxiliary are so proud to just be part of this. That’s what we’re all about, giving back to our community and follow veterans and family.
