A special flight takes a team effort. ✈️❤️

A huge thank you to the Mesa Fire and Medical Department who supported our kids’ flights by being on standby throughout the experience and providing a water cannon salute on touchdown! 🚒💦✈️

It’s an unforgettable way to celebrate the end of an unforgettable mission. We’re incredibly grateful for the support, professionalism, and heart they bring to these special flights.

Their presence provides an extra layer of safety and reassurance for our young mission participants, their families, and our team.

Thank you for having our backs — and giving our special kid pilots one heck of a welcome home. ❤️

Today we’re shining the spotlight on our founder, Michael.

Hope From Above began with a simple idea to use aviation to help people when they need it most. Since then, that vision has grown into a nonprofit powered by dedicated volunteers and a shared commitment to serving communities in times of need.

With a background as an aerospace engineer, test pilot and flight instructor among other things Michael brings decades of aviation experience to every mission. But beyond the credentials, he’s the one helping turn ideas into action—planning missions, building partnerships, mentoring volunteers, and keeping our organization moving forward.

Thank you, Michael, for leading by example and reminding us what can be accomplished when passion meets purpose.

Aviation has the power to do more than fly.
It can deliver hope.
It can support families in crisis.
It can inspire children to dream bigger.
It can connect communities when they need help most.
Hope from Above is a nonprofit aviation organization using flight, service, and community partnerships to create meaningful impact.

Our work includes aviation-based disaster relief, medical and supply transport, search and rescue support, volunteer pilot engagement, and special flight-based experiences for children facing serious illness, disabilities, and major life challenges.

Through programs like the WWII Kids Experience, we aim to create once-in-a-lifetime moments of courage, confidence, and hope for children and families.

The WWII Kids Experience gives children facing serious illness, disabilities, or major life challenges the opportunity to step into the role of a young pilot.

Each experience is designed around imagination, courage, aviation history, teamwork, and hope.

From mission briefing to aviation-themed preparation and a selected flight-related experience, the goal is to create a lasting memory for the child and their loved ones.

This is more than a flight.
It is a mission of hope.

Every mission begins long before the aircraft leaves the runway.

For months, our volunteers carefully prepare every detail—from personalized bomber jackets and mission patches to flight planning and mission briefings—creating a one-of-a-kind experience for each participating child.

On mission day, participants meet their co-pilot, receive their briefing, and take to the skies on an unforgettable WWII-inspired aviation adventure.

More than a flight, it’s a chance to build confidence, create lasting memories, and experience the wonder of aviation firsthand.
