Most people know who the governor is. Some people know who their city council people are.

But far fewer people know about the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC), even though its five elected commissioners make major decisions that impact your utility bills.

That’s why we’re hosting “ACC, WTF?”, a virtual training on Tuesday, September 29 starting at 5:20 p.m.

We’ll break down what the ACC actually does, how its decisions affect utility bills, water, infrastructure, and Arizona’s economy. We’ll also cover how residents can make an impact.

If you pay an electric bill, worry about rising costs, care about reliable power during Arizona summers, or want to better understand who regulates monopoly utilities, this training is for you.

Renewable energy debates are also property rights debates. In Navajo County, lifelong resident Doug Brimhall writes that proposed restrictions on renewable development would have limited landowners’ ability to use their property in a legal way.

This matters for ranching families, farmers, and landowners who may rely on lease income to keep land intact and in family hands.

Responsible standards are important, however, blanket restrictions can hurt local investment and rural economic opportunities.

New polling confirms what many Arizona families already know: the cost of electricity is too high.

Voters are increasingly concerned that utilities, politicians, and data centers are driving up electricity demand and household bills. They also support solutions that expand clean energy, upgrade the grid, and protect families from being stuck with the cost.

Families should not be on the hook to pay for corporate data centers. Period.

Arizona needs an energy future that is affordable, reliable, and accountable. That means investing in clean energy, battery storage, and transmission while making sure ratepayers are protected.
