Before joining Osborn Maledon, Phil was a law clerk for the Honorable Andrew D. Hurwitz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Honorable David G. Campbell of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona. Phil graduated first in his class from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at the Arizona State University in 2015, and the law school faculty selected him to receive the John S. Armstrong Award for the outstanding graduate in his class. Before law school, Phil worked as a paralegal and spent a year as a volunteer English teacher in Hunan Province, China.

2021-2022 Board Elections!

It is time to start the election process for our board for next year! The basic roles of each position are:

President: coordinating events and board meetings
Vice President: coordinating events and running point when the President can't
Secretary: coordinating the Google drive and attending administrative meetings
Treasurer: coordinating funding for events
Social Chair: coordinating events with outside groups
Representatives for 2L, 3L, and MLS: promoting events to their respective group

All board members are expected to attend events and participate in board meetings.

If you are interested in serving as an officer on the board, please send a statement of interest, including which position(s) you're running for, to [email protected] by March 31st.

In the second week of April, we will send out an email with everyone's statements and a link to vote on each position.

ELS MERCH!!!

New ELS merchandise is here! We have two different styles of hats: structured/FlexFit and relaxed/adjustable. We also have stickers and a few of last year's t-shirts available. There is a limited number of each so be sure to get yours ASAP!

Hats: $25 each

Stickers: $3 each

T-Shirts: $15 each

Venmo is preferred. Proceeds from the sale of hats, stickers, and shirts provide funding for future ELS events.

Cameron Toering will be in study room 624 from 12:15 to 1:15 pm today through Thursday this week for you to pick things up. He has hats and stickers today and will also have t-shirts starting tomorrow. To reserve yours, contact Cameron at [email protected].

Louisiana State University's Journal of Energy Law and Natural Resources is hosting a virtual event on the future of carbon capture and sequestration laws and regulations as they relate to mineral extraction and environmental litigation.
