Lunch and Israel 10-2026
Lunch and a timely and informative presentation by IDF Master Sgt. Netanel Haas who shared his firsthand experiences serving in Israel’s defense during this historic and challenging period.

Born in Eilat, Israel, Master Sgt. Haas has served in the Golani Brigade and, most recently, the Negev Brigade. His military service has included Operation Cast Lead (2008–2009) and Operation Protective Edge (2014). Since October 7, he has been called to serve seven tours of reserve duty, giving him a unique firsthand perspective on the events of the past three years and the realities facing Israel and its soldiers.

Today’s Lunch & Israel was deeply touching and heartfelt. Over 120 seniors were in attendance..

We began with three beautiful songs of hope and yearning for peace, performed by acclaimed violinist Moshe Bukshpan. As he played, the names and faces of every person we have lost since October 7 were displayed on the screen, a powerful and moving tribute.

We then heard a heart-stirring story from IDF Master Sgt. Netanel Haas, who has served seven tours of duty since October 7, sharing his experiences of courage, sacrifice and service.

We concluded with a beautiful rendition of the MiSheberach for the Soldiers, a prayer for those who protect and defend the People of Israel and the Land of Israel.

Together, it was a touching October 7th tribute, remembering and honoring all those we lost, while drawing strength from their lives and empowering all those present to carry their light, courage and spirit forward.

When war starts everyone attempts to leave the country. Netanel ran back to Israel to be there and help save lives and protect the people of Israel. A true hero. Thank you Netanel for sharing your emotional and inspirational story with us today at our Lunch and Israel for Seniors.
