Philmont Scout Ranch has a way of turning miles on the trail into stories Scouts remember for the rest of their lives.

Troop 172 recently took on the Philmont adventure, hiking challenging trails, working together, building leadership skills, and experiencing the kind of backcountry adventure that makes Scouting so special.

For many of us, these are the moments that remind us why we give our time to Scouting. We get to help young people discover what they're capable of and sometimes, discover it right alongside them.

🎉 Congratulations to Our New Eagle Scouts! 🦅 Please join us in celebrating Kenyon S. and Henry P. of Troop 6 on earning the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout!

🌲🏕️ The adventure continues closer to home! Some projects improve camp. Others become part of its history!

A new 40-foot steel bridge now spans the creek near Handicraft at Camp Geronimo, thanks to the vision of Dr. Mike Kiedrowski and Mark Holgate, along with the leadership of Scoutmaster Mark Price, Camp Ranger Ramon Martinez, Brady Vorachek, Troop 828, Troop 3126, and a dedicated team of volunteers. From engineering and fabrication to welding and installation, this multi-weekend effort created a safe, durable crossing that will serve campers for years to come!

So, what do Scouts do during a 9-hour layover in the Charlotte airport? ✈️

They ask Mr. Huston to teach the American Heritage Merit Badge, of course! 🇺🇸📚 The perfect way to tie together everything they experienced during their time in Washington, D.C....because the Scouting adventure never really ends—even nearby travelers stopped to listen and learn. ⚜️

⛺ Another unforgettable day at the 2026 National Scout Jamboree! The morning began with the AO "Revelations: A Magical Experience," a powerful theatrical presentation about character and leadership. The production celebrated the dedication of the new OA statue, generously donated by TriDave. After the performance, our contingent had the opportunity to take a group photo with one of the show's actors, Arizona's own Colin McLellan, along with Scout Executive Andy Price. 📸

Andy also spent time with the contingent, encouraging Scouts to consider working at summer camp and sharing how those experiences help develop leadership and lifelong skills. He then presented the exclusive Key 3 Leadership neckerchief to our Senior Patrol Leader, Zach H .🤝👏

In the afternoon, it was time to begin packing up camp. The contingent worked together to disassemble our campsite, including taking down the rain fly that served as our dining ramada throughout the jamboree.

🚍 This morning, we hit the road for North Carolina!
