In case you missed it: last week over one hundred faith leaders representing diverse traditions gathered in Phoenix for a “We Are One Beloved Community: Interfaith Day at the Arizona Capitol.” Guided by our Prophetic Witness Campaign, leaders leaned into advocacy rooted in Accompaniment, Public Prayer, Nonviolence, Solidarity, and Truth. Through encounters and the sharing of testimonies, Arizona faithful called for policies that prioritize dignity, care, and building strong and healthy communities statewide.
Interfaith Day at the Arizona Capitol was truly a team effort, and our collective dedication, hard work, and love paid off.
We, moved through a powerful series of Prophetic Actions: beginning with our interfaith Prayer Procession filled with song offerings, to powerful prayer messages from the Rose Garden, to meaningful encounters with Senate and House of Representatives and closing the day with a collective commitment to Rise + Vote with faith, family, and community.
Sending a special thank you to the team members, volunteers, faithful member leaders from Corazón Arizona, Kino Boarder Initiative, and Arizona Faith Network. Together, we made a significant impact!
We were honored to hear prophetic prayers calling for moral courage, compassion, and love from Rev. Kevin Grimditch JCL, Pastor Jimy Martinez, Rev. Cynthia Jennison, Vasu Bandhu, Brophy students, Auxiliary Bishop Eduardo A. Nevares, Rev. Veronica Alvarez, Rev. Christine Dance, Father Andres Arango, and many others.
People of faith call for an alternative vision of an Arizona where leaders invest lawmaking capacity and resources in caring for creation, education, healthcare and affordable housing.
