It is after noon when you hear a knock at your front door. You ignore it since you’re home alone and not expecting visitors. A few minutes later, you hear glass breaking downstairs from the back of your house. You go to your bedroom and get your handgun. An intruder enters your bedroom and moves toward you. You shoot him one time in the chest. Now he runs away.

A woman inside of her house fired one fatal shot at an attempted burglar in the southeast valley on Saturday afternoon, police said.

Recent events regarding Covid-19, quarantines, shelter-in-place orders, diminished law enforcement capacity and related items have prompted many persons to purchase their very first firearm or to dig out that gun they have in the back of the closet.

Marcus Allen Weldon – author of the book, titled “Surviving the System: The Story of the Santa Shooter.”

Marcus writes about an incident which occurred in Detroit, MI in which he was protecting his own life, and also the life of a young woman who was being physically assaulted by two men at a gas station.

Marcus’ story is a cautionary tale for all firearm owners. For taking this life-saving action he faced seven felonies and could have served a maximum sentence of 30 years, a minimum of 16 years. We are excited to be talking to him as a free man with all charges defeated.
