For more than 100 years, the White Mountains of Arizona have celebrated the tradition of Pioneer Days, featuring a community parade and two exciting days of rodeo events.

For many years, the Future First Responders of America (FFROA) Cadets have been honored to serve during these events by assisting with crowd management, traffic control, and staffing the First Aid Station. These opportunities allow our Cadets to work alongside dedicated public safety agencies and event committee personnel while gaining invaluable real-world experience.

Our Cadets take great pride in serving with professionalism, integrity, and respect. Each year, they strive to make the event safer and better for everyone involved while representing the next generation of first responders.

We sincerely thank all of the agencies, volunteers, and event organizers who continue to support and mentor our Cadets. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and to learn from the outstanding professionals who make Pioneer Days such a tremendous success.

Our Cadets are honored to work alongside a wide variety of agencies, from emergency response professionals to those serving in the security field.

These experiences provide invaluable training, mentorship, and hands-on learning that help prepare them for future careers in public safety.

The knowledge, skills, and professionalism they gain today will help shape the first responders of tomorrow.

We were incredibly honored to welcome the world-famous all-female Wildland Firefighting crew, The Apache 8, to speak with our Future First Responders of America Cadets.

Joining them were two BIA Helitack Firefighters (Japeth Perez & Shaquawn Declay) from the Apache Tribe, along with Concho Fire Department Wildland Coordinator Jason Craven, who shared their experiences and discussed the many opportunities available in the fire service as a rewarding career.

Cadets also watched the award-winning documentary "The Apache 8", which tells the inspiring story of these pioneering women who broke barriers and paved the way for the generations of women and men serving in wildland firefighting today.

Hearing firsthand about their courage, dedication, and commitment to protecting communities across the United States was an unforgettable experience. We are deeply grateful to these remarkable firefighters for taking the time to inspire the next generation of first responders. Their legacy will continue to motivate our Cadets for years to come.

We are delighted to announce that Staff Sgt.Serenity O Smith, a valued member of Future First Responders of America, has secured her dream position as a Wildland Firefighter. Alongside her in the photograph are her mentors and colleagues who have provided her with invaluable opportunities. We extend our gratitude to Concho Fire Department for their support of Serenity and the Future First Responder Youth Program, facilitating the attainment of their career aspirations. The success of these young individuals is indebted to the assistance of Concho Fire and other local agencies.

While we train our youth to become Wildland Firefighters, they also learn and understand the risks and sacrifices that come with serving in this—and every—first responder profession.

We honor those who have paved the way for the next generation, whose courage, dedication, and selfless service continue to inspire our Cadets.

It is never easy when we lose a brother or sister Wildland Firefighter in the line of duty.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families, friends, coworkers, and fellow crew members of the brave firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their courage and commitment to protecting others will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, heroes. We will carry your legacy forward.

Learn how to help your community in the event of a disaster or major incident. Future First Responders of America provides annual Teen CERT training, giving youth the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to respond safely, support others, and serve their communities when help is needed most.
