Today, 12/2, was our final delivery to the Academies for 2024! The 20 men and women here at Phoenix, will all graduate on 12/19 - a day, they informed me, is almost here and they are anxiously looking forward to reaching! Congratulations to each of these (almost) Officers, the Staff, and to all who have started their careers in Law Enforcement through 2024. Stay Safe each of you - Stay Strong, you have so many who support you.

On June 28, 2020, TYAZB made our very first delivery to the Peoria Police Department (south location). Everything was "brand new", I didn't know the slightest about what I had gotten myself and volunteers into!
πŸ’™
From my initial post on Next Door, there was a very special young lady who asked if we wanted to fill our bags with "Painted Rocks". Wellllll, I had never heard of painted rocks, I had no idea people were even decorating rocks, and I obviously never realized the impact that including these in our bags would have for our Officers throughout our deliveries!
πŸ’™
This young lady, Samantha, started something special. Something that the men and women in our PDs associate with Thank You AZ Blue. And Samantha, I have a surprise for you. Remember visiting Peoria PD in 2020? (see pic #1). In September, during one of our classes for the Peoria PD Citizens Academy, low and behold... what do I see? Every single day since 2020, Officers and Staff see this when they enter and leave the building to their squad cars.
πŸ’™
Yes, Samantha, there really is a Santa Claus, and she didn't deliver coal, she brought so many smiles and good intentions to our Officers....

R.I.P. Officer Coolidge. Heaven gained another Angel today. May your wings wrap around your baby and your wife as you watch over them all days in the future.

It is with a heavy heart and incredible sadness that I let you know of the passing of Phoenix Police Officer Zane Coolidge #10914.

Officer Coolidge was a husband, father, son, brother, friend, and a dedicated and beloved member of the Phoenix Police Department.

Since Tuesday night’s shooting, Officer Coolidge put up a valiant fight, despite the odds being against him.

He has been surrounded by loved ones and blanketed in the prayers of this community. The injuries he sustained after the cowardly acts of another were just too much for him to overcome. Officer Coolidge’s legacy will forever be a part of this Department.

Officer Coolidge’s family is dealing with unimaginable grief. We will do everything we can to help them through their darkest hours, and we pledge that they will always be a part of the Phoenix Police Family. I ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

This is also a very trying time for our Department. We have felt the outpouring of support from our community over the past few days and we know that will remain unwavering.

We will hold our heads up high and do our fallen colleague proud, by continuing to serve our community with the courage and integrity that is Phoenix Police Department.

Michael G. Sullivan

Interim Chief of Police

MCSO - CLASS #163

Yesterday, 7/10/24, I had the privilege of delivering our TYAZB Recruit bags to Class #163 at the MCSO Training Academy. I LOVE these deliveries, the girls and guys are always so fun, appreciative, and especially welcoming.
πŸ’™
Typically we deliver during their end of session volleyball game, and my first question/comment, "I have NO idea how y'all are playing volleyball in 110 degrees, I haven't left the house since the end of May!"
πŸ’™
I let them know if they still had energy, I had yardwork up for grabs - with of course a promise of a pool party and grilling after. Had some takers, but somehow they weren't permitted to follow me home dangit!
πŸ’™
When asked if they were ready to graduate, they all definitely are - and ready to get to work (and stop talking in 3rd person for all of you TOs out there, LOL), there was a huge "Absolutely"! So here's to our newest grads from MCSO - CONGRATS to all of you. Stay Safe, Stay Strong, We support you in all you do!

Gila River PD and Corrections hold a very special place in my heart. To them and the community, I offer this prayer... Dear Lord, we ask that you keep this beautiful new soul surrounded by your Angels as he enters the door to Heaven. Please also send your healing light to all of those who knew him, including his co-workers, his blue family, his relatives and friends as they grieve for their loss. May you send your comfort to all in the coming days, weeks, and months. We ask this for Officer Joshua Briese and the community. Amen.

At approximately 2 o’clock this morning, Gila River Public Safety Dispatch received an emergency call for service regarding a disturbance at a home in Santan, District 4 of the Gila River Indian Community.

Gila River Police Department (GRPD) officers responded. As the responding officers worked to address the disturbance, which involved a large crowd, multiple gunshots were fired. Two GRPD officers were struck by gunfire, as were four individuals at the scene.

The injured officers and individuals were immediately taken to local hospitals. One of our Gila River police officers has died as a result of his injuries. The second injured officer remains in serious but stable condition. At least one other individual has been pronounced deceased. All the injured are being treated at area hospitals.

The deceased Gila River Police Officer has been identified as Officer Joshua Briese. Officer Briese had been with the department for less than a year and was still on Field Training.

Our hearts and prayers are with these police officers, their families, and everyone impacted by this tragic incident.

The Gila River Police Department is working with the Federal Bureau of Investigations to conduct a joint investigation of the incident. More information will be forthcoming as the investigation progresses.

πŸŽ‰ CONGRATULATIONS TO CLASS #572 PHX ACADEMY!πŸŽ‰
πŸ’™
On Tuesday, May 7th, AJ and I delivered special "Congrats Bags" to the upcoming new grads from Phoenix Academy, Class #572 (graduation is tomorrow). Absolutely great and funny class to visit. The young men and women had just returned from a very long run, jumped in to help carry the bags from the car, and were welcoming and friendly.
πŸ’™
Our Congrats bags contain the same items as our LEO Department bags, with a few exceptions - the upcoming grads will receive a stress ball, blue line pen and blue line flag, and instead of a Thank You Card, our absolutely fantastic card writer(s) will write a special appreciation message on a Congratulations card.
πŸ’™
Without your support and generosity we would not be able to continue our deliveries! Please feel free to reach out if you would like more information, or would like us to visit your department(s)!.
