A Thousand Ladders

A Thousand Ladders We create jobs for people experiencing homelessness. Help us help each other.

The products we sell teach technical skills and the workshops we host provide opportunities for participants to engage with their community as a peer.

Karla was evicted from her home while she was in the hospital recovering from a violent assault. She has lost everything, and currently stays at a nearby shelter.

Despite the challenges she’s faced sharing space with strangers and the brutality of living on the street, Karla has found it best to stay busy. She’s engaged in volunteerism for several months now, and just completed her first workshop with us where she learned how to build a wallet, as well as operation of our sewing machines.

Karla is doing the hard work it takes to end her situation and get her life back.

We didn’t overthink this one. That’s exactly why it works. Hand-stitched card sleeve, donated leather, made by participants. Your back pocket will thank you. Your chiropractor will not.

Encouragement. Confidence building. Empowerment. That’s what A Thousand Ladders aims to provide, at very least. We want our participants to grow and to flourish.

Listen to Florentino speak about his experience and the power of encouragement in our latest video on our YouTube channel.

Florentino couldn’t get words out when he first came to us.
Not because he had nothing to say. Because no one had ever made it safe enough to say it.

That’s what the support group gave him. A room where his voice was welcome. Where people listened. Where showing up and speaking up was enough.

He’s in Arkansas now, building a career. And he talks. A lot.
We think that’s everything.

We need your support! Help us provide meaningful employment to those experiencing homelessness by donating at the link in our bio.

All proceeds go right back into our program. We purchase the supplies and tools needed to manufacture goods and pay our participants a modest stipend.
