Phoenicia Library is located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains in the beautiful hamlet of Phoenicia. All members of the public may enjoy the use of our WIFI, our public computers and our programs for all ages.

Make your garden harvest last and learn to preserve your veggies to be enjoyed for months to come. Finish off this series with a presentation and demonstration by Master Food Preserver, Kathryn Brignac from Cornel Cooperative Extensionof Ulster County.

The program will teach safe canning and fermenting techniques and tips.

This program is for adults and children 10+

Summer Reading Contest Raffle & Awards at Phoenicia Library

Come to the library to see who will win our Summer Reading Contest! Awards given for those who have read the most books in children, teen, and adult categories. Raffle to see who the lucky winners for gift certificates will be! Please complete your book logs/get your raffle tickets by Thursday, August 13th at 5 pm to be included!

THEN, stay for an afternoon of playing board games and enjoying snacks with us.

Grief and Loss Group

THIS Wednesday, 8/12, 11:00 am - 1 pm

Join Reverend Trudi Hirsch for this workshop in which we will explore and process individually, and with others, the way we navigate these difficult and often life-changing moments in our life.
Trudi will offer some supportive tools, as well as visualizations and breathing techniques that might help.

Reverend Trudi Hirsch-Abramson is a Zen Buddhist priest who worked for decades as a chaplain in various hospitals in New York City and as a faculty member at the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care. She recently retired from serving as Chaplain Supervisor at Vassar Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. She teaches workshops on Death and Dying, Grief and Loss, Aging, Mask work, Internal Movement, Spiritual Art, Pranayama and Meditation.
REGISTRATION IS REQUESTED BUT NOT REQUIRED.
