Callie (F) - Shorthair Calico - Approximately 3 Years Old
Callie raised her kittens with us back in March and April. While she started out feral, she has made so much progress in foster care that we don’t feel it would be right to return her outside and the situation she came from wouldn’t be ideal anyway. She was a wonderful mama, and now it’s Callie’s turn to find a home.
Callie has a classic calico personality: sweet and affectionate with just the right amount of sass. She purrs almost instantly when you’re near, kneads her paws, meows and trills for attention, and loves head pets. She’s still deciding how she feels about back scratches, but we’re working on it. She likes tube treats and happily accepts canned food of any kind. She rubs her head and body all over for attention and is a total flirt. She’s a big time drooler if you get her in a lovey mood.
Callie is looking for a very specific kind of home. She will need someone patient, understanding, and willing to give her the time she needs to settle in and trust. She will hide initially and it will take tube treats and soft talking to convince her it’s safe. Because of this, she needs a quiet, calm home with no children. She does like other cats but has not been tested with dogs. She finds great comfort in her kennel that has her food, water and litter box. In her foster home she spent a lot of time in it, by her own choice. She would do best adjusting in a small area, like a bathroom at first.
We know it’s a big ask to find the right adopter for a cat like Callie instead of simply releasing her back outside. But we truly believe this girl deserves the chance to feel safe, loved, and cared for, for the rest of her life.
Callie is spayed, microchipped, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, rabies & FRVCP vaccinated, dewormed and has flea prevention. Her adoption fee has been waived. If you think you might be the person and want to meet her, Callie is at the Anderson Valley Farm Supply.
