Doris Johnson founded the Johnson Concern & Care Center in November of 1976. For nearly 50 years, she focused on feeding and clothing families in North Philadelphia. She worked with city leaders to offer job readiness programs, housing, literacy courses, senior employment, nutritional development, recreation and much,
much more.

She was born and raised in North Philly and received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Temple University. She has always been a provider, a worker and a mother of many in our community.

Today, she is our loving Grandmother who is now 92 years young!! We will continue her legacy through this nonprofit as we rebuild it, reconnect and begin to do the work it takes in order to serve our city just as she has. Please support our page and look out for our next event! Coming soon!!
