Still coming down from the high of our annual BKA boot camp this weekend! The turnout was nothing short of incredible, raising well over $10k in the name of mental health— our very own PR thus far!!! We cannot express our gratitude enough 🥹 Every dollar received is donated to mental health organizations dedicated to providing education, research, and resources. Two of which we were lucky enough to have in attendance on Saturday: &
The love, support, and community that came together to make this event so successful was truly inspiring. Biggest thanks to for the drive and dedication that only somehow amplifies every single year.
Some words that I hope stuck with you if you were there, or I hope you can take in now if you weren’t:
Mental health doesn’t discriminate. It doesn’t care about age, background, or how strong someone appears on the outside. Too often, people suffer silently — behind smiles, behind “I’m fine,” behind the fear of being judged or misunderstood. We have to change that. We have to create a world where it’s okay to not be okay. A world where asking for help is seen as strength, not weakness. A world where we check in on each other — not just once, but consistently and genuinely.
One of the last messages Stephen shared was the saying “Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.” I think most people could resonate with that. This final message from our brother is what inspired the creation of the Be Kind. Always. Foundation, making sure that we honor him by spreading empathy and creating a community of mental health support. We are here to give our tiny but mighty impact in bettering the world through this.
We ask you to not just listen to not just listen, but to act. Reach out to someone. Have the hard conversations. Be present. Be kind. Because sometimes, the smallest gesture — a message, a call, a moment of understanding — can make all the difference. We are here because of loss. But we continue because of hope. Hope that we can break the stigma. Hope that we can save lives. Hope that one day, no one will feel like they have to suffer alone.
