KINGDOM LIFESTYLE STUDIES — THIS SUNDAY! 👑

Have you ever wondered why someone can be saved for years but still struggle to grow spiritually?

Time in the Kingdom does not automatically equal maturity in the Kingdom.

There are places in our lives where growth can become arrested—where fear, unforgiveness, bitterness, comfort, religious habits, wrong thinking, or simply refusing to obey what God has already revealed keeps us spiritually stuck.

But stagnation does not have to become your permanent condition.

This Sunday, we’re dealing with “SPIRITUAL ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT: Identifying the Barriers and Embracing the Kingdom Solution.”

> “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” — 2 Peter 3:18

The Father's desire isn't merely that we attend church, accumulate Bible knowledge, or become busy with religious activity. He intends for us to GROW—becoming mature sons and daughters who increasingly reflect the character, thinking, obedience, and lifestyle of the King.

It’s time to identify what has been hindering our development and allow the Holy Spirit to move us from stagnation to Kingdom maturity.

GOD LOVES YOU WHERE YOU ARE—BUT HE NEVER INTENDED FOR YOU TO STAY THERE.

The Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of transformation.

One of the dangers of our Christian walk is becoming comfortable with attitudes, habits, mindsets, and behaviors that God is calling us to outgrow.

We say:

“That's just how I am.”

But the Kingdom says:

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2

There are things that may have been understandable in one season of your life that cannot accompany you into spiritual maturity.

At some point...

We have to stop blaming.

Stop making excuses.

Stop allowing our emotions to govern us.

Stop resisting correction.

Stop repeating the same cycles.

And stop expecting God to change everything around us while refusing to allow Him to change US.

Paul said:

“When I became a man, I put away childish things.” — 1 Corinthians 13:11

Notice: he put them away.

Spiritual growth requires our cooperation.

The Holy Spirit will convict.
The Word will reveal.
Jesus will command.
Grace will empower.

But we must respond.

Kingdom maturity means allowing the King to govern areas of our lives that we once governed ourselves.

My prayer today is:

“Father, show me what I have outgrown but haven't let go of. Reveal every mindset, attitude, habit, relationship pattern, and behavior that is hindering my maturity in Christ.”

I'm not satisfied with simply getting older.

I want to get better.

I want to get wiser.

I want to become more disciplined.

I want to become more loving.

I want to become more obedient.

Most importantly...

I WANT TO BECOME MORE LIKE JESUS.

Don't just celebrate how far you've come.

Ask God to show you where you still need to grow.

BE who you are in Christ while continually BECOMING more like Christ.

YOUR PAST DOES NOT HAVE TO GOVERN YOUR FUTURE!

One of the greatest obstacles to becoming who God has called us to be is allowing who we WERE to determine who we believe we CAN become.

We remember our failures, mistakes, missed opportunities, wrong decisions, and the years we feel we have wasted.

But the Kingdom of God is about transformation, restoration, and becoming who the Father created us to be through Jesus Christ.

The Apostle Paul declared:

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark..." — Philippians 3:13–14 KJV

Notice that Paul did not allow his past to determine his present pursuit of Christ.

Your past may explain where you have been, but it does not have to determine where you are going!

Don't allow yesterday's failures to become today's excuses for disobedience.

Don't allow regret to rob you of the opportunity to obey God TODAY.

And don't become so focused on what you have not accomplished that you neglect what the King has placed in your hands RIGHT NOW.

Whether you are 25, 45, 65, or 85, the question is not simply how much time you have left.

The question is:

"Am I faithfully living under the Lordship of Jesus Christ with the time God has given me TODAY?"

The Kingdom life is not about pretending we have arrived.

It is about BEing who we are in Christ while continually BEcoming more like Him.

So today, repent where repentance is needed. Receive His forgiveness. Renew your mind. Obey His commandments. And continue growing in your relationship with the King.

You cannot change yesterday, but you can surrender TODAY to the One who holds your tomorrow!

Keep growing. Keep obeying. Keep becoming Christlike.

The King is not finished with His transforming work in you!

YOU CAN BE ACTIVE FOR GOD AND STILL NOT BE INTIMATE WITH GOD.
It is possible to attend services, preach sermons, teach Bible studies, sing songs, give offerings, pray publicly, and serve faithfully—yet neglect an authentic relationship with the King.
Jesus gave us a sobering warning:
“Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name?” — Matthew 7:22 AMPC
Notice—they had activity, gifts, works, and ministry.
Yet Jesus' response reveals something deeper:
“I never knew you…” — Matthew 7:23
The Kingdom is not first about what we DO for the King.
It is about KNOWING the King, being known by Him, submitting to His Lordship, and allowing that relationship to transform how we live.
Jesus did not die merely to make us more religious.
He came to restore us to relationship with the Father and bring us under the loving rule of God.
So today, before asking:
“What am I doing for God?”
Ask:
“How is my relationship with God?”
Am I talking with Him—or merely talking about Him?
Am I listening to Him—or only asking Him for things?
Am I obeying Him—or simply accumulating biblical knowledge?
Am I becoming like Jesus—or merely becoming better at religious activity?
Never allow your work for the King to replace your walk with the King.
Ministry can never substitute for intimacy.
Know the King. Love the King. Listen to the King. Obey the King. Then let everything you DO flow out of WHO you are becoming in relationship with Him.
