The mission of the Cambodian Association of Greater Philadelphia is to improve the quality Our programs are rooted in the community.

The Cambodian Association of Greater Philadelphia (CAGP) has continuously provided innovative programs and services for the Cambodian, refugee, and immigrant community since 1979. Our Board and Staff continue to reflect and represent the lived experiences and diverse faces of the community that we serve. Collectively, our work addresses the complex social, cultural, educational and health needs of multiple generations, positively and directly impacting every age from preschool children through the elderly. With two offices located in immigrant neighborhoods and BIPOC business corridors of both North and South Philadelphia, we take pride that we are community-based, are in community spaces, and are led by community faces---this is CAGP.

Community Announcement & Upcoming Special Cambodian Events

CAGP is beyond honored to announce Lok Kru Sochietah Ung as our new Cambodian Performance Arts and Costume Design Master Teacher as part of our October 2026 to May 2027 Cambodian Cultural Immersion Program.

One of the United State’s leading cultural preservers, Lok Kru Sochietah brings a lifetime of mastery to our Philly community. Trained by legendary masters from both Cambodia and the U.S., he is a rare expert in all three major Cambodian classical dance roles (giant, male, and female) as well as traditional folk dance.

His dedication to Khmer arts has taken him from crafting royal crowns for Princess Bopha Devi to designing for Broadway’s The King and I, and performing on stages like the Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian. Recently, Lok Kru was named 2024 National Endowment for the Arts: National Heritage Fellow.

Short clip excerpt from one of many CAGP never before seen VHS Tapes. This is from 1998 when Mrs. Bonna Weinstein was our culture program coordinator. During her term, she helped push and amplify Khmer cultural arts to local mainstream media. Khmer arts began becoming featured in local news, specials, and was recognized as a cultural heritage to be cherished and celebrated. Presently, Bonna is the founder and director of Khmer Art Gallery in Philadelphia.

CAGP's Cambodian American Cultural Conservancy is digging and discovering thousands of photographs, videos, and documents of our Khmer and Southeast Asian American Philly history. Truly compelling to be anthropologist & archeologist in our own offices.

In the 1980s, thousands of Cambodian refugees, genocide survivors whom were displaced by war, arrived in Philadelphia. CAGP is stitching together the images amd stories so that it may never be lost to future generations.

We’re thrilled to announce that CAGP had been selected to participate in the 2026 program! This free, hands-on STEM opportunity – offered in collaboration with – invited youth entering grades 2-6 to step into the role of real scientists. This past summer young scientists got the chance to explore, experiment, and discover how chemistry shapes the world around them with the Be a Chemist! Program. Children Are Our Future! South Philly Parents & Caregivers packed our 1st & 2nd floor office. Another school year as our awesome OST After School Team lays down a strong foundation of children & youth development for Taggart Elementary students. All Philly school children deserves free, accessible and quality after school programs. CAGP has offered culture program since 1982, children's programs since 1989 and after school programs since 1992 🫶
