History isn’t just something we read about—it’s something we witness in real time.

Speaker Joanna McClinton’s journey is a powerful reminder of what happens when purpose meets preparation.

From serving her community to leading one of the most historic legislative bodies in the nation, her story reflects resilience, faith, and the courage to step forward—even when it’s unfamiliar.

But what makes her impact even more meaningful is what it represents… Progress. Possibility. And a path forward for the women coming next.

Because when one woman rises, she doesn’t rise alone—she creates space for the next generation to rise.

🌸 Women’s History Month Feature

Today we honor Mayor Cherelle Parker, the 100th mayor of Philadelphia — a leader whose journey from Northwest Philadelphia to City Hall reflects resilience, service, and community leadership.

Her path into public service is rooted in a deep commitment to community and the belief that leadership begins with service.

As the first woman and first African American woman elected mayor in the city’s 341-year history, her leadership represents progress and possibility for generations to come.

Mayor Parker’s administration focuses on making Philadelphia the safest, cleanest, and greenest big city, while expanding opportunity and strengthening neighborhoods.

Her story reminds us that history is often shaped by those who rise with courage to serve others.

This tribute is part of the Women’s Impact Series, celebrating women who have changed the course of history.

Join us next Saturday as we honor another woman who changed history.

🌸 Who is a woman whose leadership has impacted your life?

Today we honor a visionary.
A banker. An activist. A bridge builder.
Dr. Emma Chappell

She was the first African American woman to establish and lead a commercial bank in the United States — but her impact reached far beyond banking.

She strengthened communities.
She funded minority and women-owned businesses.

She championed economic empowerment.
She led with faith and conviction.

Her legacy lives on — not just in history books or street signs, but in every life she inspired to move forward with courage.

Legends may not live forever,
but legacy lives on in the lives it touches.
