This week marked the first sessions of our InPower Pilot Program, and we couldn’t be more energized by the momentum. Six incredible SCH Academy seniors—Alexa, Bezi, Lily, Sadie, Sami, and Yaya—have joined us for their senior project, already offering thoughtful insight and helping us refine this meaningful work.

We were honored to welcome our first guest speaker, Maggie King (SCH ’17), who courageously shared her personal journey, bringing depth and authenticity to this week’s themes: Find Your People and Know Your Core. We’re also grateful to Janine Mazzarelli (SCH former Parent and Psychologist) for helping facilitate a powerful session.

From meaningful conversations to integrating physical wellness with Ali Bradley at Sanctuary Wellness, and closing the week with a nourishing lunch from Aloha Smoothie Company, every moment reflected the heart of InPower.

Deep gratitude to Dr. and Mrs. Druggan for opening their home and supporting this work.

This is just the beginning—and we’re excited for what’s ahead. 💙

There’s nothing like showing up and seeing your people there.

Family, cousins, friends, generations… all together.
It meant more than I can put into words.

But what I keep thinking about is this—

Support doesn’t have to look like this big group.
It can be one person. Just one.

One person you can go to and say how you’re really feeling.
Not the “I’m fine” version.
The real version.

And they don’t fix.
They don’t judge.
They just listen.

That’s what changes everything.

If you have that person… hold onto them.
If you don’t… you deserve to find them.

That’s a big part of why we do what we do at WillPower.

💙 Join us for the Walk on September 19th
Bring your support system…
or come find one.

Because no one is meant to do this alone.

Take this as a reminder to put your phone down and give your brain a social media break. Your mental health will thank you.💙

The symptoms of depression in adolescents may look different than those typically associated with depression in adults. Parents may assume if teens are short on energy, losing sleep, or withdrawn, that they’re just exhibiting normal behavior that comes from the pressure of daily life as a teen.

It can be easy to miss when a teen may feel depressed and in need of help. Here are three signs to be aware of.

Powered by Will.

On the river where Will once rowed for SCH Academy, a new generation moves forward together.

Look closely and you’ll spot something special. Rowing with her teammates, Birdie wears her WillPower T-shirt; a quiet but powerful reminder that Will’s legacy continues to move forward through today’s students.

Crew is about trust. Rhythm. Belonging.
It’s about knowing someone has your back and pulling in the same direction.

Will believed in that kind of teamwork, on the water and in life.

The WillPower Foundation was created in his honor to ensure more young people feel supported, connected, and resilient. Our annual WillPower 5K Run/Walk & Talk carries that mission forward, building spaces where mental wellness conversations happen side by side.

Want a 2026 WillPower shirt like Birdie’s?

Join us at the 2026 WillPower 5K Run/Walk & Talk or become a corporate sponsor and help us ensure this message of belonging reaches even further.

Because when a community moves in sync, lives change.

Therapy can be a game-changer — but only if it’s accessible and accepted.

For many young people and families, the barriers aren’t just financial. There’s often stigma, uncertainty, or fear around asking for help in the first place. At WillPower, we work to make that a non-issue — by removing obstacles and normalizing support.

A $1,000 gift helps one young person receive up to eight therapy sessions through our Therapy Access Program (TAP).

It means care without judgment.
Support without shame.
Help that shows up early.

This is how lives change — when getting help feels possible, human, and safe.

Thank you for being part of that shift.

Did you know the parts of the brain responsible for emotional regulation, planning, and perspective-taking are still developing well into the mid-20s—and often into the early 30s?

This isn’t something to “fix.”
It’s a powerful window to build skills that last.

That’s why we love The Teen Brain, a 10-minute film produced by Goldie Hawn and directed by Tiffany Shlain.

The film helps illuminate what’s really happening inside the teenage brain—and why understanding this stage matters so much for connection, learning, and well-being.
