Schuylkill Dragons

Check out this amazing piece featuring us in the Philadelphia Inquirer! We were honored to get to share this fabulous sport with them this summer. We had the best time reading it out loud together while waiting between races at our last race of the season yesterday!

Thanks to everyone who has supported us over our 25 years and made us to the "sweatin', swearin', swaggerin'" team we are today.

A group of Philly-area women — many in their 70s and 80s — have banded together as the scrappiest dragon boating team on the river. 🔗: https://ebx.sh/5fcGEi

Every June we offer Learn to Paddle, and then some of those folks fall in love with dragon boating and join our crew on the river! Welcome 2026 Rookies!! We’re so glad you’ve joined us (and not only because cake is involved!)

What a DAY! Schuylkill Dragons showed up ready to race at the Cooper River Dragon Boat Regatta Saturday, with a first ever one-two punch in the A Major category (Purple taking gold, and Gold taking silver after giving Purple a run for their money in the semis !)

Two boats have been a bit sloggy…and after pulling them from the water, this is what we found! Yikes! But Dragons prevailed, and we’ll be back on the river soon!

The SDs also OC, but only after huli testing! And guess what? A dip in the Schuylkill’s not so bad!
