The University of Pennsylvania Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) is a student-run service organization providing emergency medical services to the University community. The primary purpose of the organization is to complement the emergency medical care provided by the University of Pennsylvania Police Department (UPPD) and the Philadelphia Fire Department (PFD) by providing professional, time

Today we kicked off NCEMSF week with Collegiate CPR Day! MERT hosted a table on Locust from this afternoon to teach the important basics of CPR to anyone walking by, including Penn President Dr. Amy Gutmann 🤩

MERT held our biannual Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) drill this past weekend, simulating an explosion and chemical spill in the Chemistry Laboratories. Our 38 EMTs calmly and efficiently triaged, extricated, treated, and transported 41 patients with support from our public safety partners.
