Penn African Students Association (PASA)

Penn African Students Association (PASA) Reppin' the Mamaland Since '93! You need not be African to join!

PASA (Penn African Students Association) is a student organization at the University of Pennsylvania that strives to educate and promote awareness of Africa in the Penn community. The Penn African Students Association was formed to enable African students to share their common interests and experiences. After being temporarily inactive for some time, the Penn African Students Association was reviv

ed by Ndidi Okonkwo, a Wharton sophomore in September of 1993. Since then, PASA has increased its family size and the awareness of African culture and issues affecting Africa at Penn. PASA boasts members as diverse as the continent; our members include everyone from Penn students who live in Africa, African students at Penn who live in the United States, to Penn students looking to broaden their horizons. The history of Africa and it's heritage is rich and we are open to anyone who is interested in learning about and experiencing African culture. We also encourage our members to look into the problems facing Africa and to explore ways to combat these issues. PASA is unique because it allows its members to take cultural issues and current events in Africa and breathe life into them.
