22 “He never sinned, and he never told a lie.”

23 People insulted him, but he did not insult them back. He suffered, but he did not threaten anyone. No, he let God take care of him. God is the one who judges rightly. 24 Christ carried our sins in his body on the cross. He did this so that we would stop living for sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you were healed. 25 You were like sheep that went the wrong way. But now you have come back to the Shepherd and Protector of your lives.

📖 I Am Guided by His Light 📖

Reflection

There are times in life when we wish God would show us the entire road ahead.

We want to know where we are going.

We want to know how everything will work out.

We want confirmation that the decision we are making is the right one.

And sometimes we simply want God to tell us what comes next.

But God often leads us differently.

Instead of illuminating the entire journey, He gives us enough light for the step we are standing in.

His Word becomes a lamp for our feet.

A lamp does not necessarily show us what is miles ahead. It gives us enough light to keep moving without stumbling over what is directly in front of us.

That requires trust.

There may be seasons when we cannot see how everything connects.

We may not understand why God is leading us in a particular direction or why something is taking longer than we expected.

But we do not have to see the entire path to follow the One who does.

God knows what is around every corner.

He sees what we cannot see.

He knows which doors should open and which ones should remain closed.

He knows when we need to move forward, when we need to wait, and when we need to change direction.

Our responsibility is not to figure everything out before taking the next step.

Our responsibility is to remain close enough to Him to recognize His guidance.

We find that guidance through His Word.

Through prayer.

Through the wisdom He gives us.

And through the peace that comes when we stop trying to force our own way and trust Him to lead.

Sometimes God will give us clarity about the future.

Other times He will simply give us enough light for today.

And enough light for today is enough.

Today, you do not have to know the entire journey.

Stay close to God.

Let His Word illuminate the step in front of you, and trust that when it is time to take the next one, His light will be there too.

Psalm 119:105

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

God’s Word gives us wisdom and direction for our journey. He may not always reveal everything ahead of us at once, but He faithfully provides the light we need to follow Him one step at a time.

Today I choose to follow God’s light.

I do not need to see the entire road ahead.

I will trust Him with what I cannot yet see.

His Word is my lamp.

His wisdom is my direction.

His presence gives me confidence to take the next step.

I will not rush ahead of God or allow uncertainty to make me afraid.

I will follow the light He gives me today and trust Him to illuminate tomorrow when I arrive there.

Today, I am guided by His light.

📖 I Trust God With Tomorrow 📖

Reflection

Tomorrow can easily become a place where worry begins to grow.

We think about what might happen.

What could go wrong.

What decision we may have to make.

Whether something we need will be provided.

Or how a situation we cannot control will eventually turn out.

Before we realize it, we can find ourselves carrying the weight of a day that has not even arrived.

Jesus reminds us that we were never meant to live that way.

God gives us grace for today.

Today has its own responsibilities, its own opportunities, and its own moments to experience God’s presence.

When we spend today worrying about tomorrow, we can miss what God is doing right in front of us.

Trusting God with tomorrow does not mean we never plan.

Wisdom prepares.

Responsibility plans.

But faith understands that after we have done what we can do, the future still belongs to God.

There are things about tomorrow we simply cannot know.

But we know the One who is already there.

God knows what we will need before we need it.

He knows which doors will open.

He knows which direction we should take.

He knows the circumstances we will face and the grace we will need to walk through them.

We do not have to borrow tomorrow’s concerns and carry them today.

Sometimes trusting God means saying:

“Lord, I have done what I can do today. I give tomorrow back to You.”

Then we rest.

Not because we know exactly what tomorrow will bring, but because we know the character of the One who holds it.

Today, allow yourself to live fully in the day God has given you.

Handle what belongs to today.

Pray about what concerns you.

Prepare where wisdom tells you to prepare.

Then release tomorrow into God’s hands.

When tomorrow becomes today, His grace will already be waiting for you there.

Matthew 6:34

“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

Jesus teaches us not to become consumed with tomorrow’s concerns. God invites us to trust Him one day at a time, knowing that the same grace and faithfulness sustaining us today will meet us in every tomorrow.

Today I trust God with tomorrow.

I will not carry the weight of a day that has not arrived.

I will be responsible for what God has placed before me today and release what I cannot control into His hands.

I trust His provision.

I trust His wisdom.

I trust His timing.

I trust His direction.

Whatever tomorrow brings, I know God will already be there.

His grace will be sufficient.

His presence will remain with me.

And His faithfulness will not change.

AUGUST 21

📖 I Am Growing in Grace 📖

Reflection

Growth with God does not happen all at once.

It happens little by little, day by day, as we continue walking with Him.

Sometimes we recognize our growth immediately.

We notice that something that once caused us to react no longer has the same effect.

We realize we are handling disappointment differently.

We begin responding with patience where we once responded with frustration.

We forgive more freely.

We trust God more deeply.

And sometimes growth is happening so quietly that we do not recognize it until we look back and realize how far God has brought us.

Growing in grace does not mean becoming perfect.

It means allowing what Christ has already given us to continually influence the way we think, respond, love, forgive, and live.

There will still be moments when we make mistakes.

There will still be areas where God is teaching us.

There will still be days when we recognize something within ourselves that needs His help.

But those moments do not mean we have stopped growing.

They remind us that we still need grace.

God’s grace gives us room to learn without living under condemnation.

It teaches us that when we stumble, we can get back up.

When we recognize an area that needs changing, we can bring it to God instead of hiding from Him.

And when we look back at who we once were, we can thank Him for every step of growth—even when there is still more growing to do.

Spiritual maturity is not reaching a place where we no longer need God.

It is recognizing more deeply just how much we need Him.

The closer we grow to Christ, the more we learn about His heart.

The more we understand His grace, the more freely we can extend grace to ourselves and to others.

Today, do not become discouraged because you are still growing.

Thank God that He is still teaching you.

Still shaping you.

Still strengthening you.

Still revealing more of Himself to you.

Growth is not always loud or immediately visible.

Sometimes it is simply evidence that grace is doing its work.

2 Peter 3:18

“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”

Peter encourages us to continually grow in our understanding of Christ and the grace He has given us. Spiritual growth is an ongoing journey as God teaches us, matures us, and helps us reflect more of Christ in our everyday lives.

Today I choose to keep growing in grace.

I will not condemn myself because I am still learning.

I will recognize the progress God has already made in my life while remaining open to the areas He is still developing.

When I make mistakes, I will receive His grace and continue moving forward.

I will remain teachable.

I will remain humble.

I will continue growing in my knowledge and relationship with Christ.

God is still working in me, and I trust the process of becoming more like Him.

Wednesday Night Bible Study Reflection

As I listened to Pastor teach Wednesday night, something became so plain to me: the truth of God’s Word isn’t given to restrict my life, it is given to protect my life and lead me into freedom.

Sometimes we look at sin only through the lens of heaven or hell, when there are also consequences that affect how we live right here on earth, our minds, our emotions, our relationships, our decisions, and ultimately our life experiences.

And what really stood out to me was the progression.

When we don’t stay grounded in truth, compromise can slowly become repetition. Repetition can become normal. What once bothered us can begin to feel acceptable, and before we realize it, we can find ourselves living in bo***ge to something God never designed for us.

But grace gives us another progression:

Truth → Revelation → Believing → Renewing the Mind → Transformation → Freedom

Romans 12:2 tells us not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Transformation begins when I stop allowing the world to tell me who I am and return to the truth of who God says I am.

I am righteous.
I am forgiven.
I am redeemed.
I am loved.
I am accepted in Christ.

And because I am already accepted, I don’t have to live trying to earn God’s approval, or anyone else’s.

Grace does not mean our choices have no consequences. It means our mistakes do not change our identity, and God does not abandon us in them. Grace teaches us, corrects us, renews us, and gives us the power to make a different choice.

So the question isn’t simply, “How badly did I mess up?”

The question becomes, “Where am I in the progression?”

Have I compromised something I know to be true?
Have I normalized something that once troubled me?
Am I making decisions from my flesh, from the pressure of people, or from the truth of who I am in Christ?

And when truth shows me where I am, I don’t have to stay there.

I make the adjustment.
I renew my mind.
I return to truth.
I snap back.

That is transformation.

Not perfection, but learning to live more and more from the identity Christ has already given me.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” — John 8:32

AUGUST 20

📖 His Peace Calms Every Storm 📖

Reflection

Storms can arrive without warning.

One moment everything seems calm, and the next we may find ourselves facing circumstances we never expected.

A difficult conversation.

An unexpected change.

A troubling report.

A financial concern.

A family situation.

Or simply a season when our thoughts and emotions feel unsettled.

The disciples experienced something similar while crossing the sea with Jesus.

The wind became fierce. The waves began filling the boat. And although Jesus was right there with them, fear convinced them that they were in danger.

Then Jesus spoke.

“Peace, be still.”

And what had been raging around them became calm.

Sometimes we read this story and focus only on the storm that Jesus stopped.

But there is another beautiful truth within it:

Jesus was with them before the storm ever became calm.

His presence was not dependent upon peaceful circumstances.

And neither is His presence with us.

There may be times when God changes the situation immediately.

But there may also be times when the circumstances remain unsettled while He begins calming something within us.

The storm around us does not have to become the storm within us.

When fear tells us everything is falling apart, we can remember who is with us.

When our minds begin racing ahead, we can return our thoughts to Him.

When we cannot control what happens next, we can rest in the One who already knows what lies ahead.

Peace does not always come from having every answer.

Sometimes peace comes from knowing Who is in the boat with us.

Today, whatever may be stirring around you, remember that you are not facing it alone.

The same Jesus who spoke peace to the wind and the waves is present with you.

Let His presence quiet your heart.

Mark 4:39

“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”

Jesus demonstrated that even the wind and waves were subject to His authority. The storms of life may sometimes feel overwhelming, but they are never greater than the One who is with us in the midst of them. August 2026: Seeing God Through Creation.png

TODAY’S DECLARATION

Today I choose the peace of Christ.

I will not allow the storms around me to become storms within me.

When fear rises, I will remember that Jesus is with me.

When my thoughts become unsettled, I will turn my attention back to Him.

I do not need to know every answer to have peace.

I do not need to control every circumstance to trust God.

Whether He calms the storm around me or first brings calm within me, I know I am never facing it alone.

Today, His peace calms every storm.

📖 Every Branch Has a Purpose 📖

Reflection

When we look at a healthy vine, every branch is connected to something greater than itself.

The branch does not exist simply to occupy space on the vine. It has a purpose—to grow, to receive nourishment, and ultimately to bear fruit.

Jesus used the picture of the vine and its branches to teach us something important about our own spiritual growth.

God has purpose for every area of our lives.

But growth sometimes requires pruning.

Pruning can sound like something negative because it involves cutting away. Yet a gardener does not prune a healthy plant because he wants to destroy it.

He prunes because he sees its potential.

There may be habits God is teaching us to release.

There may be attitudes He is correcting.

There may be distractions that once occupied our time but no longer belong in the season He is leading us into.

There may even be good things that God asks us to loosen our grip on because they are keeping us from something He wants to develop more deeply within us.

Not everything God removes is punishment.

Sometimes it is preparation.

The pruning process may feel uncomfortable because we do not always understand what God is doing while He is doing it.

We may wonder why something changed.

Why a door closed.

Why a season ended.

Why something that once seemed productive no longer fits.

But God sees beyond the moment.

He knows what needs strengthening.

He knows what needs removing.

And He knows the fruit He is preparing our lives to produce.

Our purpose is not found in trying to become someone else’s branch or producing someone else’s fruit.

Our purpose is found in remaining connected to Christ and allowing God to cultivate our lives according to His plan.

Today, trust the Gardener.

Allow Him to shape, strengthen, correct, and prune whatever is necessary.

You may not understand every cut while it is happening, but you can trust the hands of the One who knows exactly what He is growing.

John 15:2

“Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”

Jesus reminds us that God lovingly tends the lives of those who belong to Him. His pruning is purposeful. As He removes what hinders our growth and strengthens what remains, He prepares us to become even more fruitful. August 2026: Seeing God Through Creation.png

Today I trust God with every area of my growth.

I know that my life has purpose.

I will remain connected to Christ and allow God to shape me according to His plan.

I will not fear the pruning process.

When I do not understand what He is doing, I will trust His hands.

I believe God is preparing my life to produce the fruit He created me to bear.

📖 I Am Planted by Living Water 📖

Reflection

A tree does not become strong simply because the weather around it is favorable.

Its strength comes from where it is planted.

Psalm 1 gives us the beautiful picture of a tree planted beside rivers of water. Its roots have access to a steady source of nourishment, allowing it to remain strong, grow, and produce fruit in the proper season.

Our spiritual lives are much the same.

There will be seasons when life feels peaceful and everything seems to be going well.

There will also be seasons of uncertainty, disappointment, waiting, and change.

But our ability to remain spiritually strong does not have to depend on the season around us.

It depends on where we are rooted.

When we remain rooted in God, His Word nourishes us.

His presence refreshes us.

His wisdom directs us.

His grace strengthens us.

And His love reminds us that we are never without a source.

Sometimes we may look at our lives and wonder why certain things have not happened yet. We may be waiting for prayers to be answered, opportunities to appear, relationships to change, or circumstances to improve.

But a healthy tree does not produce every season.

There are seasons for growing roots.

There are seasons for developing strength.

And there are seasons when the fruit finally becomes visible.

The absence of visible fruit does not mean God is absent.

He may be strengthening something beneath the surface that will sustain us when the next season arrives.

Our responsibility is to remain planted.

We continue seeking Him.

We continue trusting Him.

We continue allowing His Word and His presence to nourish our hearts.

And we trust God with the timing of the fruit.

Today, remember that your strength does not come from having perfect circumstances.

Stay rooted in the One who continually supplies what you need.

When your life is planted in God, you can remain nourished, strengthened, and fruitful through every season.

Psalm 1:3

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

Psalm 1 reminds us that a life rooted in God receives continual spiritual nourishment. Just as a tree planted near water has what it needs to grow and produce fruit, remaining connected to God strengthens us and prepares us to flourish in the season He has appointed.

Today I choose to remain planted in God.

His Word nourishes me.

His presence refreshes me.

His wisdom guides me.

I will remain rooted, nourished, and confident in His timing.

Yesterday’s message reminded me of something I have come to understand more deeply as I grow in Christ:

When you know who you are, you stop making decisions out of pressure, loneliness, fear, or the need to be chosen.

Pastor taught that sin does not change the born-again believer’s identity. We are still righteous, forgiven, redeemed, and loved by God. But when we forget who we are, our choices can begin to affect our mind, our will, our emotions, and even the way we see ourselves.

That really stayed with me.

Because so many decisions begin with identity.

When I know who I am in Christ, I do not have to rush into a relationship simply because someone is interested in me. I do not have to overlook character because somebody looks good, has money, says the right things, or checks a few boxes on a list.

I can wait.

I can pay attention.

I can allow friendship to develop first.

I have always believed that my next relationship should begin with genuine friendship, the laughter, the joking, the banter, the conversations, the shared interests, enjoying life together, learning new things together, and discovering each other without trying to force everything immediately into romance.

Maybe we are going to church together.

Maybe we are laughing until our stomachs hurt.

Maybe we are learning pickleball together. 😂

Maybe we are traveling, watching football, trying something neither one of us has ever done, or simply sitting somewhere talking for hours.

But underneath all of that, I want to discover character.

Can we communicate?

Can we respect one another?

Can we be friends?

Can we pray together?

Can we disagree without destroying each other?

Can we encourage one another’s relationship with God?

Can we enjoy each other when there is nothing romantic happening at all?

Yesterday Pastor said something that stayed with me:

Romance is better when it is born out of friendship.

And I believe that.

I am not interested in rushing past friendship just to say I have somebody.

I would rather allow God to develop something healthy than manufacture something quickly.

Because when you are secure in who God says you are, you understand that being single is not an emergency.

You do not have to chase.

You do not have to settle.

You do not have to audition.

You do not have to give pieces of yourself away trying to convince somebody that you are worth choosing.

You already know your worth.

And from that place, you can choose wisely too.

God is not withholding something good from us when He teaches us His way. His instructions come from love because He already sees consequences that we cannot see.

And that is why this scripture speaks so strongly to me:

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV)

So I am perfectly content allowing friendship, character, faith, laughter, compatibility, trust, and God’s timing, to reveal what something really is.

And if God chooses to grow friendship into love, beautiful. ❤️

But I want the foundation first.

Identity before desperation.
Character before chemistry.
Friendship before romance.
God before all of it.

I don’t have to rush the story when I trust the Author. ❤️

📖 I Am a New Creation 📖

Reflection

One of the beautiful truths of our relationship with Christ is that our past does not have the final word over who we are.

When we receive Christ, God does more than improve the person we used to be.

He gives us a new identity in Him.

Yet sometimes we continue looking at ourselves through the lens of old mistakes, old habits, old labels, and even the opinions other people once had of us.

We may remember who we used to be and allow those memories to influence how we see ourselves today.

But God does not define us by our past.

In Christ, we have been given a new beginning.

Being a new creation does not mean we suddenly know everything, never make another mistake, or no longer have areas where we need to grow.

Spiritual growth is a journey.

God continues teaching us, renewing our minds, shaping our character, and helping us understand more fully who we already are in Christ.

There may be things we once believed about ourselves that God is teaching us to release.

There may be old patterns that no longer belong in the life He is leading us into.

There may even be seasons when we realize we have been carrying an identity God never gave us.

As we grow closer to Him, we begin to see ourselves differently.

We learn that our identity is not determined by our failures.

It is not determined by our accomplishments.

It is not determined by people’s approval or rejection.

Our identity is rooted in Christ.

Today, release the pressure to remain connected to an old version of yourself.

Allow God to continue renewing your mind and revealing who He created you to be.

The old does not have to define your future.

In Christ, you have been made new.

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Through Christ, we receive a new identity. Our past may be part of our story, but it no longer determines who we are. As we grow in our relationship with God, we learn to live from the new life and identity He has already given us.

Today I embrace who I am in Christ.

I will not allow my past to define my identity.

I release old labels, old thinking, and old patterns that no longer belong in my life.

I will allow God to renew my mind, shape my character, and continue revealing who He created me to be.

My identity is not determined by my mistakes or the opinions of others.

My identity is rooted in Christ.

Today, I am a new creation.

📖 I Choose Kindness and Compassion 📖

Reflection

Kindness and compassion are simple ways we can reflect the heart of Christ in our everyday lives.

We never truly know everything another person may be carrying.

Someone may be smiling while dealing with disappointment.

Someone may appear strong while quietly feeling overwhelmed.

Someone may be struggling with circumstances they have never shared with anyone.

That is why even the smallest act of kindness can mean more than we realize.

A gentle word.

A listening ear.

A little patience.

A helping hand.

A sincere smile.

A moment of encouragement.

None of these things require something extraordinary from us, but God can use them to touch someone’s heart in ways we may never see.

Compassion also teaches us to look beyond someone’s behavior and remember that there may be a story behind what we see.

This does not mean we excuse harmful behavior or ignore healthy boundaries. It simply means we choose not to allow judgment to be our first response.

Jesus consistently demonstrated compassion toward people.

He noticed those who were hurting.

He saw those others overlooked.

He showed mercy to those who had made mistakes.

He met people where they were while lovingly leading them toward something better.

As followers of Christ, we have the opportunity to carry that same kindness and compassion into our everyday encounters.

We may never know when a simple act of love becomes the encouragement someone needed to keep going.

Today, slow down long enough to notice the people around you.

Allow the kindness and compassion of Christ to flow through your words, your actions, and your responses.

You never know how God may use something small to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.

Ephesians 4:32

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

God encourages us to treat one another with kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. As we remember the grace He has extended toward us, we can allow that same grace to influence the way we respond to others.

I will be mindful that everyone I encounter may be carrying something I cannot see.

I will choose patience instead of quickly judging.
